Research Interest
Bayu focusing research in synthetic organic chemistry. The major topic is to establish efficient and novel strategies for chemical syntheses of pharmaceutically active a,b-unsaturated carbonyl compounds and their N- and O-containing heterocycles, such as chalcones, pyrazolines, acridines, and xanthenes, with the help of green catalytic transformation.

Short Biography

Bayu Ardiansah was born in Kabupaten Kulon Progo – Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta on January 2, 1992. When in undergraduate program, he is the 1st winner of Olimpiade Sains Nasional Pertamina (Pertamina Science Olympiad) 2012 and the 3rd winner of Indonesian Young Scientist Selection 2013 held by Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). He is a permanent lecturer and researcher at the Department of Chemistry – FMIPA Universitas Indonesia since 2016. He received Master Degree in Chemistry in January 2016 with  a work focused on the synthesis of chalcone derivatives.  Bayu teaches Organic Chemistry I & II,  Stereochemistry, and Determination of Molecular Structure.
