After participating in the 2024 National Mathematics and Natural Sciences Olympiad (FMIPA) – Higher Education (ONMIPA-PT) regional selection, on April 24-25, 2024 online from the FMIPA UI Multidisciplinary Laboratory Building, Depok, 14 out of 15 students of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) were declared to have passed and will proceed to the next stage, namely the national level selection, which is scheduled to be held on May 12-17, 2024 offline, at Hasanuddin University, Makassar.

Overall, based on the announcement delivered by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), National Achievement Center, Secretariat General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology as the event organizer, the total UI contingent that passed to the national stage was 19 students, consisting of 14 FMIPA students, 2 Faculty of Engineering (FT) students, 2 Faculty of Nursing (FIK) students, and 1 Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom) student.

As preparation, the entire UI contingent has received intensive guidance from lecturers who were specifically appointed as mentors. They are experts in the fields of study being competed, namely Dr. Putri Zahra Kamalia (Mathematics), Dr. Adam Badra Cahaya (Physics), Iman Abdullah, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D as (Chemistry), and Tety Maryenti, M.Sc., Ph.D (Biology).

The total number of participants who will appear in this national level selection is 65 students from all universities in Indonesia. Later, 20 best students will be selected from each field and will compete for 3 gold medals, 5 silver medals, 7 bronze medals, and 5 honorable mentions.
