Four researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), have been listed in the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2023. These four researchers are Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Rosari Saleh (Department of Physics), Prof. Dr. Yoki Yulizar (Department of Chemistry), M.Sc., Munawar Khalil, S.Si., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry), and Dr. Dipo Aldila, S.Si., M.Si. (Department of Mathematics).

The global Top 2% scientists list was authored by Prof. John P.A. Ioannidis, M.D., Ph.D. from Stanford University. This edition is the fifth release of the “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators,” published by Elsevier.

The Top 2% Scientist Worldwide 2023 list, published by Stanford University and Elsevier BV, provides the latest version of a scientific author database related to standardized citation indicators (released Wednesday, October 4).

This database offers standardized metrics on citations, such as total citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, and composite indicators (c-score).

Scientists in the database are grouped into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields according to the Science-Metrix classification standard. Selection is based on the top 100,000 scientists ranked by c-score (with and without self-citations) or in the top 2 percentile within a specific subfield.

In total, nine lecturers and researchers from UI are categorized in the Top 2% Scientist Worldwide 2023. Two are from the Faculty of Medicine (FK), three from the Faculty of Engineering (FT), and four others are lecturers and researchers from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA).
