4 Study Programs Achieve International Accreditation, UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Holds Thanksgiving Ceremony

The Physics and Biology undergraduate study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) University of Indonesia (UI) have achieved a “Better than Adequate” rating in the AUN-QA study-level assessment. The quality assessment results for both programs were recently announced by the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA).

Both programs were found to meet the standards and criteria of the ASEAN University Network Quality Assurance (AUN-QA).

In this assessment, FMIPA UI was deemed successful in implementing quality assurance according to the AUN-QA model, namely: input quality, process quality, and output quality.

Previously, in June of last year, the Mathematics undergraduate study program successfully received an AUN-QA assessment with a final score of “4.5” on a scale of “7” (7). Documents Available and Evidence That They Are Used.

Not only that, the FMIPA UI Chemistry Undergraduate Study Program also succeeded in obtaining an international level assessment through the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) with the predicate partially accredited.

Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, Dr. Denny R. Silaban, M.kom. explained that the predicate means that the points direview and assessed by the RSC team, some have met RSC standards, while others need to be improved.

Regarding these achievements, Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris stated that this accreditation is not merely an obligation, but also a reflection of the efforts and commitment of study programs at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI to improve academic quality assurance standards and gain recognition as internationally recognized study programs by the global community.

He considered this moment worthy of gratitude. Therefore, today, Friday (March 15th), FMIPA UI held a thanksgiving ceremony attended by faculty leaders, department heads, study program heads, teaching staff, and administrative staff within the FMIPA UI.

“In less than a year, a total of four FMIPA UI undergraduate study programs have achieved international accreditation. Thank God, this is certainly a moment for which we should all be grateful. This is the result of our hard work and, of course, our collective synergy,” Haris stated.

The thanksgiving ceremony, symbolized by the cutting of a tumpeng (rice cone) and a communal lunch, was held at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UI Administration Center Building.
