Adnan Hasyim Wibowo, a student from the Geophysics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) was named the Best Outstanding Undergraduate Student I in the Regional Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) event in the Higher Education Service Environment (LLDikti) Region III Jakarta in 2024.
Adnan managed to beat 16 other finalists, namely Muhammad Harish (Pertamina University), Nur Syifa Nadiastuti (Jakarta State University), Desfara Anggreani (National University), Richelle Bertly Josefano (Indonesian International Bioscientia Institute), Fauzan Ilham Ramadhan (Trisakti College of Economics), Prima Wijaya Kusuma (Mercu Buana University), Aurelia Bianca Hanjaya (Bina Nusantara University), Abdul Muhyi (Esa Unggul University), Jannatul Jasmine (Jakarta Veteran National Development University), Fachreza Riyanda (State Electricity Company Technology Institute), Andrian Rustandi (Indonesian Institute of Technology), Geoffrey Christian Lo (Tarumanagara University), Mellissa (Gundarma University), Sholehudin (Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka University), Kenny Reagan Tjahyadi Putra (Atma Catholic University of Indonesia Jaya).
Adnan said that during the Pilmapres selection, lecturers from the Geophysics and Biology Study Programs, FMIPA UI, as well as friends including from FMIPA UI, the Faculty of Dentistry, and the Faculty of Computer Science, UI, had supported and played a role in helping with the preparations.
“The hope for the future is that at the national level, we can provide maximum and proud results so that we can provide more benefits and share happiness,” said Adnan.
Previously, Adnan had passed the regional level selection, which was held on May 6-7, 2024, at the Indonesian Christian University (UKI) for the Jakarta region (region III). Adnan excelled in his creative ideas related to efforts to utilize renewable energy in Indonesia.
Next, he will appear representing UI at the national level in July. At the stage which is the peak of the 2024 Pilmapres selection series, Adnan will present and present a prototype of his creative idea in front of the jury.
The Pilmapres assessment components include Self-Description and Creative Idea posters for the Undergraduate Program as well as Self-Description posters and Innovative Product posters for the Diploma Program.
The assessment of the Outstanding Students component includes outstanding achievements, creative and innovative idea scripts and English language skills. Dr.rer.pol. Ied Veda Rimrosa Sitepu, S.S., M.A., as a representative of the Jury, delivered an evaluation of prospective outstanding students from the aspects of knowledge, skills, and life skills including communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and student ability in English.
“In the delivery that is also assessed is confidence, the second is communication, both verbal and nonverbal communication, body language that is often forgotten because it may be busy thinking about what words to say or trying to convince the judges.” said Dr.rer.pol. Ied Veda Rimrosa Sitepu, S.S., M.A.
The other judges for the Regional Level Pilmapres at LLDikti Region III include Prof. Dr. Teddy Mantoro from Sampoerna University; Prof. Dr. Suswandari M. Pd from Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka University; Dr. Wachyu Hari Haji, S.Kom., M.M. from Bina Nusantara University; Dr. Tipri Rose Kartika from the State Polytechnic of Creative Media and Dr. Dora Angelina Siagian, S.Pd., M.Hum from Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia.
