Research Interest
Bayu focusing research in synthetic organic chemistry. The major topic is to establish efficient and novel strategies for chemical syntheses of pharmaceutically active heterocyclic compounds, such as chromene, pyrazole, benzimidazole, and xanthene derivatives, with the help of green catalytic transformation.

Short Biography

Bayu Ardiansah was born in Kabupaten Kulon Progo – Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta on January 2, 1992. When in undergraduate program, he was the 1st winner of Olimpiade Sains Nasional Pertamina (Pertamina Science Olympiad) 2012 and the 3rd winner of Indonesian Young Scientist Selection 2013 held by Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI). He received Master Degree in Chemistry in January 2016 with  a work focused on the synthesis of chalcone derivatives. Bayu joined as permanent lecturer and researcher at the Department of Chemistry – FMIPA Universitas Indonesia since October 2016.  Bayu teaches Organic Chemistry I & II,  Stereochemistry, and Determination of Molecular Structure. At present, Bayu pursue his Doctoral degree at Synthetic Organic Chemistry Laboratory, Division of Materials Science, Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST), Japan.
