Six lecturers and researchers from FMIPA UI have made brilliant achievements in the international arena, by entering the list of Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2024 by Stanford University. Stanford University released the latest scientist database on September 16, 2024, which is compiled based on standardized citation indicators. This database contains detailed information on various citation metrics, including the number of citations, h-index, hm-index adjusted for collaborative contributions (co-authorship), and composite indicators (c-score).
The six lecturers and researchers are Prof. Ivandini T. Anggraningrum, Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry), who is included in the Career-long Category or the Top 2% Scientist category throughout her career, Dr.rer.nat. Rosari Saleh (Department of Physics), Prof. Dr. Yoki Yulizar, M.Sc. (Department of Chemistry), Munawar Khalil, S.Si., M.Eng.Sc., Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry), Dewangga Oky Bagus Apriandanu, Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry), and Dr. Dipo Aldila, S.Si., M.Sc. (Department of Mathematics) who is included in the Single-year Impact Category or the Top 2% Scientist category with citation impact in the past year.
This achievement has increased from the previous year, where in 2023, 4 FMIPA UI lecturers and researchers were included in this prestigious ranking.
Dean of FMIPA UI Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. expressed his appreciation and pride for the six members of his community. According to him, this achievement not only makes FMIPA UI famous in the world arena, but is also real evidence of FMIPA UI’s commitment to contribute significantly to science at the international level.
“Congratulations to the six lecturers and researchers of FMIPA UI who have successfully entered the list of Top 2% Scientists Worldwide this year. For us, this achievement not only reflects their dedication and hard work in research, but also shows FMIPA UI’s commitment to contribute significantly to science at the international level,” said Prof. Dede.
The increase in the number of FMIPA UI scientists from the previous year according to Prof. Dede shows a positive trend that should be appreciated. He hopes that this achievement will be a motivation for the entire academic community to continue to strive to achieve excellence in research and publication.
“Hopefully this achievement will be an inspiration for the entire academic community of FMIPA UI, to continue to synergize with each other to improve research activities and quality, improve work and innovation for the advancement of science that is beneficial to the world community,” he said.
The “Top 2% Scientists Worldwide 2024” list was published by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier BV. The list was compiled by Prof. John P.A. Ioannidis, M.D., Ph.D., of Stanford University, and is the seventh edition of the “Updated Science-Wide Author Databases of Standardized Citation Indicators” publication published by Elsevier.
Scientists included in the database are grouped into 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields according to the standard Science-Metrix classification. Scientists are selected based on their c-score—with or without self-citations—among the top 100,000 scientists or those in the top 2% percentile in a given subfield.
