After holding the main student achievement (pimmapres) selection on Tuesday morning (March 21, 2023) at the Prof. Dr. G.A Siwabessy Hall, UI Campus, Depok, in the same afternoon, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI), announced the main student achievement award winners.

The announcement was read by Dr. Dewi Susiloningtyas, S.Si., M.Si., Manager of Student Affairs at FMIPA UI, who also served as the chairperson of the organizing committee, based on the jury team’s decision letter and the official report on the winner determination dated March 21, 2023.

Based on this decision, the jury team appointed Dylan Arlen Tunggatama (Actuarial Science 2020) as first place winner, Salsa Muafiroh (Geography 2020) as second place winner, and Deva Fitrianti Rahayu (Geophysics 2020) as third place winner.

Next, Dylan, as the first-place winner of the FMIPA UI Main Student Achievement Award, will compete in the next stage, which is the UI Main Student Achievement selection, to be held from April 3 to 6, 2023. This stage includes English language selection, creative ideas/innovative product presentation, psychological tests, and interviews for an outstanding CV.

In addition to announcing the main student achievement winners, the category winners were also announced on this occasion. They are Carla Mariana Nainggolan (Biology 2020) for the Arts and Culture category, Reha Aulia Nisa (Biology 2020) for the Social and Environmental category, Ahmad Haris (Geoscience 2021) for the Sports category, and Fathan Mubina (Biology 2020) for the Entrepreneurship category.

Previously, the finalists of the category student achievement selection had undergone a selection process on Saturday (March 18, 2023) at the Hall of the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, FMIPA UI – PT Pertamina (Persero), UI Campus, Depok.

A total of 10 participants in the category student achievement selection consisted of 1 participant from the Department of Mathematics, 2 participants from the Department of Physics, 1 participant from the Department of Chemistry, 3 participants from the Department of Biology, 1 participant from the Department of Geography, and 2 participants from the Geoscience study program.

Dr. Dewi congratulated the winners and all the finalists. She also expressed her gratitude to the leadership team for their full support of this event, and to the jury team for their hard work in conducting objective evaluations.

“Congratulations to the winners, and to the main student achievement award winner, good luck in the next stage,” said Dr. Dewi after reading the announcement of the winners.

She added, “As the chairperson of the committee, I would like to express my gratitude to the FMIPA UI leadership team for their full support of this event, and to the committee and judges who have worked hand in hand to make this event a success from start to finish.”

Meanwhile, the stages of the FMIPA UI 2023 Outstanding Student Selection consisted of presentations and discussions in English, Creative Ideas in the form of Scientific Papers (KTI) for the Main Student Achievement finalists, as well as evaluation of Outstanding CVs.

The Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) is organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), Secretariat General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, as an effort to encourage students to excel not only academically but also to become individuals who are creative, innovative, highly competitive, and possess strong character.

According to the website pusatprestasinasional.kemdikbud.go.id, this year the Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) for undergraduate participants has undergone changes by integrating the assessment of various skills needed in society. The evaluation of outstanding students will be based on aspects of knowledge and skills as well as life skills, including communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, and other excellent character traits.

In addition, the selection process will be conducted in stages, based on the principle of equality between public and private universities, and with regional representation. This will be followed by life skills training at the final stage.
