FMIPA UI – BUMIDA Holds Socialization of Additional Health Insurance for Lecturers and Educational Staff

Depok, July 15, 2025 – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) held a virtual Health Insurance Socialization event for lecturers and educational staff (tendik) via Zoom Meeting on Tuesday (July 15). This event is the result of a collaboration between FMIPA UI and PT Asuransi Umum Bumiputera Muda 1967 (BUMIDA), which is now in its third year.

The event opened with remarks from Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia. In his remarks, he emphasized that this supplemental health insurance program demonstrates FMIPA UI’s commitment to improving the welfare of its lecturers and staff.

“This facility is expected to complement the existing health insurance and provide a sense of security and peace of mind for all employees facing various health risks. With this additional insurance, we hope lecturers and staff can be more focused and enthusiastic about their work, without having to worry about unplanned healthcare costs,” said Prof. Tito.

This collaboration is based on an Umbrella Contract Agreement dated January 22, 2025, which is the result of a tender or selection process through the LPSE Directorate of Procurement and Logistics UI. This process is implemented in an integrated manner for all faculties within the University of Indonesia, in accordance with UI Rector Regulation Number 21 of 2024, as an amendment to Rector Regulation Number 16 of 2024 concerning UI Cost Standards for 2024.

This supplemental insurance from BUMIDA provides indemnity benefits in the form of outpatient and inpatient coverage, which is expected to complement the existing health insurance system. A representative from PT Asuransi Umum Bumiputera Muda 1967 provided a detailed explanation of the benefits and service details.

In his remarks, M. Haris Michrady, Head of the Roxy Mas BUMIDA Branch, expressed his appreciation for the renewed trust placed in the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia. He also stated that his office had received various input from the faculty to improve its services.

“We are delighted to have been entrusted with this collaboration again. We have also received various suggestions and input from beneficiaries during the collaboration period in previous years,” said M. Haris.

Furthermore, he presented a performance report for the period from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025. He stated that the number of insurance participants from FMIPA UI during that period reached 251 people, with a claim ratio of 61.76%.

“This claim rate is relatively low compared to other faculties. This means that we believe that, thank God, the participants from FMIPA UI are in good health,” he said.

He also added that the low number of claims does not mean that insurance benefits are not being used, but rather shows awareness of the importance of maintaining health among the FMIPA UI community.

“The lack of intensive use of insurance benefits does not mean it is not beneficial, but rather shows that the FMIPA UI community is aware of and in excellent health condition,” he added.

The session continued with a presentation from M. Zainal Abiddin, Head of Engineering Section of BUMIDA, regarding the benefits and terms & conditions of indemnity insurance. This event was attended by various parties from FMIPA UI, including the managerial ranks, the head of the secretariat, the head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, as well as lecturers and educational staff. From BUMIDA, a number of related officials were also present, such as Budi Setiardi (Head of Askes Claims), Wahyudianto Widodo (Head of Claims for the Western Region), Fitria Khairunnissa (Liaison Admedika), and Riyan Hidayat (Technical PIC).
