
A total of 20 student delegates from the Faculty of Sciences, University of Groningen on Tuesday (28/04/2015) visited the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, they were accompanied by Prof. Herbert Loehner and Prof. Olaf ScholtenThe delegation was welcomed by the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris along with the Manager of Research and Community Service (RPM) FMIPA UI, Dr. Djoko Triyono.
The visit from the University of Groningen is one of a series of routine Lunch Talk events organized by the RPM Unit of FMIPA UI. The delegation’s visit this time, in addition to exploring the possibility of cooperation between FMIPA UI and the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Groningen, especially in the field of education and research collaboration between the two institutions, also introduced the University of Groningen to FMIPA UI students.
One of the most interesting presentations was delivered by the Chairman of the Student Association University of Groningen, Steven van der Veekestudents majoring in Material Physics, presentation entitled “Force from nothing” explains the research he conducted in the field of quantum mechanical physics.
The student delegation from the University of Groningen admitted that they were very impressed by the friendliness of the FMIPA UI students and they hoped that their arrival would also provide benefits by conducting joint research in the fields of Physics, Mathematics, Astronomy and Computer Science.
