Depok, July 24, 2026 — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) shared its practices in managing academic quality assurance with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Pakuan. The practices covered the implementation of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SPMI), internal audits, accreditation processes, and the utilization of information systems to support academic management.

The exchange of best practices took place during a benchmarking visit by FMIPA Universitas Pakuan to FMIPA UI. In addition to discussing the systems that have been implemented, both faculties also explored the development of learning outcome monitoring and accreditation data management.

The Vice Dean for Education of FMIPA UI, Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., stated that the exchange of experiences between institutions is important to encourage the strengthening of academic quality assurance.

“Each institution has experiences and best practices that can be shared. Through this visit, we hope to learn from one another and exchange experiences in managing academic quality assurance,” said Anom.

He added that the meeting opened opportunities for the development of collaboration in the field of quality assurance.

“We hope this meeting can continue in the form of concrete collaborations to strengthen quality assurance and academic governance at both institutions,” said Prof. Anom.

The Head of Education and Curriculum Division of FMIPA Universitas Pakuan, Dr. Lilik Sulastri, S.Si., M.Farm., stated that the visit was conducted to gain an understanding of the implementation of SPMI and quality assurance practices at FMIPA UI.

The Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit of FMIPA UI, Januar Widakdo, S.Si., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained the implementation of SPMI within FMIPA UI through the PPEPP cycle, which consists of Determination, Implementation, Evaluation, Control, and Improvement.

The cycle is supported by quality implementation documentation mechanisms and various academic evaluation systems, including Final Project Evaluation (ETAP), EVISEM, and EVITAH.

FMIPA UI also shared its experience in utilizing information systems to support academic services and student data management, such as the Student Life Cycle Management (SLCM) and the Diploma Supplement (Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah/SKPI).

In managing research quality, FMIPA UI implements a Research Ethics Committee. Meanwhile, student evaluations and tracer studies are used to obtain feedback on the educational process and the development of graduates.

One of the aspects discussed was the relationship between internal audits and the accreditation process. FMIPA UI conducts an Academic Internal Audit (AIA) prior to accreditation, allowing the audit recommendations to be used in the preparation of accreditation documents and the improvement of study program quality.

The FMIPA UI AIA form is developed by adopting the LAMSAMA accreditation instrument. Accreditation data management is carried out by collecting data from relevant work units, which are then processed by the audit team or accreditation team.

The discussion also covered the monitoring of Graduate Learning Outcomes (Capaian Pembelajaran Lulusan/CPL) and Course Learning Outcomes (Capaian Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah/CPMK). FMIPA UI explained that the nine core values of Universitas Indonesia have been integrated into the learning process of each course.

Monitoring of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) achievement is currently being developed gradually. FMIPA UI encourages the development of an information system that can integrate learning outcomes from each course, enabling CPL mapping to be carried out in a more consistent and measurable manner.

In line with these needs, the Directorate of Education of Universitas Indonesia, together with the Directorate of Digital Transformation, is developing an information technology system for evaluating Course Design Documents (Buku Rancangan Pembelajaran/BRP). This system is used to assess the alignment between Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK) and Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) for each course.

The Head of the Faculty Quality Assurance Unit (UPMF) of Universitas Pakuan, Dr. Ade Heri Mulyati, S.Si., M.Si., stated that the quality assurance mechanisms, accreditation processes, preparation of accreditation forms, and academic governance practices learned from FMIPA UI serve as references for improving the quality of study programs at Universitas Pakuan.
