FMIPA UI’s Collaborative Visit to Hong Kong Strengthens International Academic Networks

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., conducted a collaborative visit to Hong Kong from April 21 to 23, 2026. The visit was accompanied by the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., as well as the Assistant Manager for Partnership Development, Asset Commercialization, and Integrated Area Development, Dwi Nurcahyadi, S.Si.

This activity was part of FMIPA UI’s efforts to expand its international network, particularly in strengthening academic collaboration, research, and student mobility with various universities around the world.

A number of strategic agendas were carried out during the visit, including discussions on Areas of Interest (AoI) for a double degree program with the College of Science at City University of Hong Kong (CityU). The delegation also accompanied the Rector of Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, in the signing of Student Exchange Agreement as a step to expand opportunities for student exchange.

In addition, FMIPA UI conducted preliminary (TBC) discussions with the School of Science at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), as well as discussions with the Faculty of Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) regarding opportunities for research collaboration and academic development.

The delegation also attended The Asia Universities Summit, a forum that brings together leaders of leading universities in Asia to discuss the strengthening of regional and global higher education collaboration.

The Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., emphasized that this visit represents an important step in expanding FMIPA UI’s international impact.

“Collaboration with various universities in Hong Kong not only opens up academic opportunities for students and lecturers, but also further strengthens FMIPA UI’s position within the global education and research ecosystem,” he stated.

Through this series of meetings, FMIPA UI hopes to accelerate the realization of sustainable collaborative programs, spanning education, research, and innovation.
