The 2020 Quacquarelli Symonds World University Ranking (QS WUR) by Subject announced that 12 fields of study at the University of Indonesia (UI) across four broad subject areas have made it into the international rankings.
One of these fields of study is Geography at UI. This study program, under the auspices of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, is ranked 151-200 in the Natural Sciences group.
UI Rector Prof. Ari Kuncoro, SE, MA, Ph.D., stated, “UI excels in providing educational programs across various disciplines, not limited by the boundaries of specific disciplines.
The collaboration of the diverse disciplines available on the UI campus is expected to result in scientific development, breakthrough inventions, and various creative innovations that benefit the people and the Indonesian nation.
Twelve fields of study at UI have successfully entered the world rankings—but as a unified university, UI believes that every study program it offers is superior and of the highest quality in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.
Every study program offered by UI, whether vocational, undergraduate, or postgraduate, is capable of producing globally competitive graduates.”
The Head of the UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Department, Dr. Supriatna, M.T., attributes this achievement to the hard work and support of many parties, especially the teaching staff and students.
Geography FMIPA UI, continued Supriatna, has implemented many programs that are the quality standards used by QS WUR 2020, namely the reputation of Human Resources (HR), H-Index Citation (a benchmark for lecturers or researchers in developing science), the quality of academic work, and academic reputation.
