With the handover of office, the baton of the management of the ILUNI FMIPA UI which was previously in the hands of Pamela Cardinale was officially given to Satya Heragandhi who previously served as Chair of the ILUNI Department of Physics.
The handover ceremony was opened with remarks from the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., who expressed his gratitude to Pamela and her staff for the hard work and contribution of ILUNI to the alma mater.
The Dean hopes that the UI FMIPA Alumni Association (Alumni) for the 2022-2025 period can bring new innovations in contributing to the alma mater and the community, and actively participate in various FMIPA UI activities. He stated that FMIPA UI alumni play a strong role in developing the alma mater.
“Alumni have a role that I believe is quite important in improving the performance of FMIPA UI both nationally and internationally, so we need to maintain communication and collaboration,” said the Dean.
Moreover, according to him, many FMIPA UI alumni are considered successful in achieving various important positions in the industrial and government sectors, so that all Deans encourage alumni to continue to disseminate the potential that FMIPA UI has.
“With this strong role, FMIPA UI alumni are also expected to be able to massively disseminate the potential of our faculty,” he added.
The event then continued with the signing of the minutes and the symbolic handover of activity and financial reports by the Chair of the ILUNI FMIPA UI for the 2019-2022 Period to the Chair of the ILUNI FMIPA UI for the 2022-2025 Period.
In his remarks, Satya Heragandhi stated that the 2022-2025 Alumni Association of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (Alumni) of the University of Indonesia (UI) is ready to collaborate with all elements within the faculty. He also ensured that various programs successfully initiated during the previous administration would be continued.
He expressed his hope that the role and presence of millennial alumni could be more integrated in the scope of research collaboration with the business world and venture capital through optimization of the ILUNI platform.
“I sincerely hope that millennials will fill the management ranks, complemented by several seniors who will serve as bridges to all classes and departments. Collaboration requires humility to work together to achieve greater goals,” he said.
“And hopefully, in the future, the ILUNI FMIPA UI platform can act as a catalyst to bridge various potential community service opportunities from staff and lecturers, students, and alumni,” he said.
On the same occasion, Pamela delivered a report on the activities she and her staff within the UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Alumni Association (ILUNI). These activities broadly represent ILUNI’s contribution to students, their alma mater, and the community.
One of the contributions to students was realized by the UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Alumni Association together with the UI Tolerant Alliance AUTO, which provided the first material for the MPKT-A to convey the importance of understanding and practicing the values of Pancasila in religious and national life, in order to develop students’ character.
Other activities for students and alumni include providing business consultations and guidance in post-campus seminars, as well as providing solution ideas to improve UI’s Employer’s Rate in international rankings in relation to improving UI’s position in the QS Ranking.
To strengthen the ties between alumni and the academic community, ILUNI also formed the ILUNI FMIPA UI music group, and supports the FMIPA UI football club.
Collaborative relationships with ILUNI partners have also been established. These include a collaboration with BATAN to hold a seminar on Nuclear Technology and a collaboration with IMERI UI to host a webinar on Artificial Intelligence and its application in healthcare.
