Short Biography |
Helmiyati was born on September 7, 1962 in Bukittinggi and she has one son and one daughter. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Andalas Univesity in 1987. Later in 1989, Helmiyati earned her Master’s degree in Chemistry from the Bandung Institute of Technology. Since 1990, she has joined the University of Indonesia as lecturer in the chemistry department with the division of physical chemistry. She experienced for teaching in various subjects, such as physical chemistry 1 and 2, the quantum, energetics, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and others. Then she earned doctoral program with dissertation topic of polymer chemistry kinetics at the University of Indonesia in 2009. Her research interests are nanocomposite polymers but not limited to synthetic polymers also biopolymers as renewable energy such as cellulose, sodium alginate which is applied as nanocomposite superabsorbent and nanocatalysts
