The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) held its 61st Anniversary celebration on its anniversary, on December 21, 2021, in a hybrid manner, at the Sinarmas Hall of the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building of FMIPA UI – PT Pertamina (Persero).
Carrying the theme of Active, Persistent, Synergistic, the 61st anniversary celebration of FMIPA UI carries the philosophy of being active in working, persistent in facing all challenges with synergy towards the world intellectual stage.
Dean of FMIPA UI, Dede Djuhana, Ph. D. in his remarks said “61 years is not a short time and journey. Gratitude for this long journey should not be enough with ceremonies, but must be a momentum for a joint movement that makes FMIPA UI more resilient, even further in terms of physics, more active in exploring new things, should not be satisfied with what has been achieved “.
Furthermore, he encouraged the entire academic community and the extended family of FMIPA UI to play an active role in realizing the vision and mission of FMIPA UI by developing opportunities and potential in the midst of the era of disruption.
“We continue to develop every opportunity and potential, because in this era of disruption, change is coming and changing lives so quickly,” he added.
“All the achievements we’ve made and the dreams we’ll realize should be the result of our collective efforts. Let’s build each other, encourage progress, and share creative ideas. Let’s make FMIPA UI a center for research, innovation, and inspiration for Indonesia and the world,” he concluded.
After delivering his remarks, the Dean of FMIPA UI carried out a tumpeng cutting ceremony as a symbol of the anniversary celebration accompanied by Prof. Dr. techn. Djoko Triyono, M. Si. as the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Yoki Yulizar, M. Sc. as the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration.
Despite being held amidst the pandemic, this year’s FMIPA UI anniversary celebration still conveyed a sense of togetherness and synergy through the FMIPA UI Kaleidoscope broadcast, which featured a series of news events, including community service, collaboration and cooperation, national and international achievements in both academic and non-academic fields, and innovations successfully created by the academic community.
These various achievements were recorded in the FMIPA UI Kaleidoscope throughout 2021 as a reflection that FMIPA UI remains committed to serving the interests of the nation and society even amidst the challenges of the pandemic that has not yet ended.
Not only that, sad news from the UI FMIPA community and residents who have passed away to the bosom of the creator was also broadcast as a tribute to their dedication.
The excitement of the event was further enhanced by a talk show featuring Dede Djuhana, Ph. D. as the new Dean and Dr. Rokhmatuloh, M. Eng. as the previous Acting Dean. Both spoke about the hopes and aspirations for the beloved FMIPA UI to reach the world stage, through steps that are focused on the vision and mission of FMIPA UI. This talk show was hosted by Victor Arif Maulana, S.Si.
Also present at this event were managers, the Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit, assistant managers, Heads of Departments and Heads of Study Programs, and the Chair of the UI FMIPA Alumni Association.
