FMIPA UI Holds First Limited Face-to-Face Lecture

After more than a year of conducting online lectures due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for the first time FMIPA UI implemented Limited Face-to-Face Learning (PTMT) on Monday (25/10/2021) at the main lecture building on the 3rd floor. This PTMT is part of the learning system blended learning.

Strict health protocols are enforced on every student, lecturer, and education staff involved in PTMT, starting from washing hands using soap and running water, checking body temperature before entering the lecture building.

The lecture duration according to the leadership’s direction is a maximum of 90 minutes. The course held is Ordinary Differential Equations with the lecturer Dr. Dipo Aldila, M. Si. Not many students attended this first limited face-to-face lecture. There were only 9 students who had sent a willingness form and a letter of permission from their parents.

Dr. Ratna Yuniati, M.Si. as the Education Manager of FMIPA UI explained, to attend offline lectures, students are required to fill out a willingness form and meet the requirements, namely having received a complete dose of the vaccine, attaching a letter of permission from parents, and if possible bringing a private vehicle.

In accordance with the Service Note issued by the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs of FMIPA UI regarding the technical instructions for implementing mixed courses for the odd semester of 2021/2022, continued Dr. Ratna, a maximum quota of only 20 people is also applied in one class.

“Before, attending this face-to-face lecture, we have provided a google form to the heads of study programs to be forwarded to students. Meanwhile, the requirements for the lecturers are those who are healthy, willing to teach on campus, and have received a complete dose of the vaccine. Of the 10 courses offered with a quota of twenty students, only 2 theory courses and 6 practical courses will be held offline. Offline classes are opened if there are at least 5 people interested and if more than the quota, the class will be divided into several sessions,” said Dr. Ratna.

Offline lecture sessions on campus can also be followed live by students at home via Zoom. In class, students are required to sit in the designated places, and are prohibited from moving the tables and chairs provided. The classroom door is always open so that air circulation is maintained properly, and during lectures, lecturers and students are prohibited from interacting physically and are prohibited from removing their masks.

Students must also enter and exit through designated access. This is to make it easier for officers to supervise. After lectures, students are immediately directed by officers to leave campus immediately.

Not only implemented for theoretical courses in class, FMIPA UI also implements PTMT with strict health protocols for practical courses implemented in the organizing study programs.

Dr. Ratna ensured that the face-to-face lectures did not violate health protocols and were carried out in accordance with POB. The campus also carries out regular sterilization every day.
