Ariadne L. Juwono, M.Eng., Ph.D.<strong>,<\/strong>&nbsp;, Neng Nenden Mulyaningsih berhasil raih gelar doktor program studi ilmu bahan-bahan FMIPA UI melalui penelitiannya yang berjudul KARAKTERISASI DAN ANALISIS TULANG PANJANG PADA HEWAN MODEL TIKUS PUTIH<em>Rattus norvegicus<\/em>YANG DIOVARIEKTOMI DAN DIBERI PERLAKUAN DIET NANO KALSIUM FOSFAT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam penelitiannya tersebut, Dr. Neng Nenden Mulyaningsih membahas metode-metode pengukuran yang tepat secara fisika biomedis dari tulang tikus putih&nbsp;<em>Rattus norvegicus sebagai&nbsp;<\/em>hewan model yang diovariektomi dan diberi perlakuan diet nano kalsium fosfat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan solusi alternatif dalam pengobatan kasus osteoporosis yang kerap terjadi pada wanita lanjut usia (menopause).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Osteoporosis yang terjadi karena adanya gangguan pada hormon estrogen dapat diobati dengan terapi penggantian hormon. Terapi ini ditujukan bagi wanita dalam masa menopause untuk menjaga kepadatan tulang dan mengurangi risiko keretakan selama pengobatan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Namun, saat ini, terapi tersebut hampir tidak lagi digunakan karena berisiko memicu timbulnya beberapa penyakit lain seperti kanker payudara, kanker endometrium, dan stroke, sehingga untuk mengobati osteoporosis secara efektif dan efisien perlu dicari solusinya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Secara garis besar ada 3 prosedur kerja yang dilakukan Dr. Nenden dalam penelitiannya. Tahap pertama, pembuatan diet nano kalsium fosfat, Tahap kedua yaitu operasi ovariektomi pada tikus dan dipelihara normal untuk mengkondisikan tikus osteoporosis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tahap ketiga yaitu tahap perlakuan pemberian diet nano kalsium fosfat terhadap tikus osteoporosis akibat ovariektomi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Diet yang diberikan divariasikan kadar nano kalsium fosfatnya untuk diketahui kadar yang paling efektif dan efisien.
