Sayangnya tingkat konsumsi sayur masyarakat Indonesia masih sangat rendah, khususnya di perkotaan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor, salah satunya maraknya makanan siap saji yang praktis dan murah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melihat fakta tersebut, Tim pengabdian masyarakat dari Himpunan Mahasiswa Biologi dan Kimia Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) terdorong untuk melaksanakan program edukasi bercocok tanam bagi anak-anak melalui Program Kukayur (Aku Suka Sayur) dengan metode hidroponik, pada tanggal 29 Oktober 2022, di Panti Daarul Ma\u2019wa, Depok, Jawa Barat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tim melibatkan 22 anak-anak di panti asuhan tersebut untuk mengenal lebih dekat mengenai sayur, mengedukasi tentang kandungan dan manfaat sayuran bagi tubuh, serta memperkenalkan cara bercocok tanam dengan metode hidroponik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kegiatan yang diketuai oleh Firliani Nabila di bawah oleh dosen dari Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI Afiatry Putrika, M. Si itu dilakukan dalam bentuk pemaparan materi dan pemutaran video mengenai cara penanaman sayur dengan sistem hidroponik serta dilanjutkan dengan praktek langsung bercocok tanam secara post to post.&nbsp;<em>post to post<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKegiatan pertama kami awali dengan penyampaian materi kepada anak-anak. Sebelum pemaparan materi dilakukan, kami memberikan&nbsp;<em>mengisi pre-test<\/em>&nbsp;guna mengukur pengetahuan umum anak-anak tentang sayur dan hidroponik,\u201d ujar Firliani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pemaparan materi dilakukan dengan mengenalkan jenis-jenis sayur yang dapat ditanam dengan metode hidroponik serta manfaatnya bagi tubuh, dan pengertian hidroponik. Pada materi juga dijelaskan keuntungan metode hidroponik seperti penggunaan lahan lebih efisien, dan tidak memerlukan banyak biaya. Tim juga mengedukasi tentang manfaat mengonsumsi sayur bagi tubuh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pemaparan materi oleh para mahasiswa Departemen Biologi dan Kimia FMIPA UI kepada anak-anak Panti Daarul Ma\u2019wa, Depok diakhiri dengan&nbsp;<em>games<\/em>&nbsp;interaktif untuk menguji pengetahuan anak-anak setelah pemaparan materi dilakukan. Pemaparan materi dan&nbsp;<em>games&nbsp;<\/em>berhadiah menarik ini mendapat respon antusias dari anak-anak tersebut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kegiatan edukasi dilanjutkan dengan mempraktekan langsung cara bercocok tanam dengan metode hidroponik secara&nbsp;<em>post to post<\/em>Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan harapan agar anak-anak mendapat gambaran dan merasakan langsung pengalaman, serta memperoleh pengetahuan dalam bercocok tanam dengan metode hidroponik.<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Participant&nbsp;<em>post to post&nbsp;<\/em>dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok dengan masing-masing kelompok berjumlah 9-10 orang. Kegiatan&nbsp;<em>post to post<\/em>&nbsp;dibagi menjadi 3 pos, yaitu pos 1 yang menjelaskan edukasi praktek penyemaian benih ke dalam rockwool, pos 2 yang mempraktekkan pembuatan pupuk AB Mix serta pos 3 yang mempraktekan pemasukkan rockwool yang berisikan kecambah ke dalam netpot, dan diakhiri dengan peletakkan netpot ke dalam bak berisi nutrisi.&nbsp;<em>Post to post&nbsp;<\/em>Kegiatan Kukayur diakhiri dengan pembagian&nbsp;<em>post to post<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kegiatan Kukayur diakhiri dengan pembagian&nbsp;<em>booklet&nbsp;<\/em>untuk setiap anak. Tidak hanya itu, mahasiswa FMIPA UI juga mengajak peserta untuk melakukan penelitian kecil untuk mengamati sayuran yang telah mereka tanam sampai 1 bulan ke depan. Peserta diminta untuk mengukur tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, dan warna daun yang teramati selama proses pemeliharaan. Setelah itu, mereka diminta juga untuk menuliskan apa yang mereka rasakan selama merawat tanaman pada&nbsp;<em>booklet<\/em>&nbsp;yang dibagikan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Afiatry Putrika, sebagai dosen pembimbing mengatakan bahwa \u201cdi Perguruan Tinggi, kegiatan kami bukan hanya sekedar belajar, tetapi ada 3 hal yang dilakukan, yaitu pengajaran, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat. Melalui pengabdian masyarakat, kita membagikan ilmu yang telah dipelajari saat kuliah. Oleh karena itu, melalui kegiatan ini diharapkan adik-adik merasakan sensasi saat makan sayur yang ditanam sendiri melalui penanaman hidroponik dan diharapkan adik-adik dapat menyelesaikan&nbsp;<em>&nbsp;mini project<\/em>&nbsp;berdasarkan pengamatan penanaman yang dilakukan\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain itu, Ketua Himpunan Mahasiswa Departemen Biologi UI, yaitu Edwin Arga juga menyampaikan \u201cMelalui kegiatan kukayur diharapkan adik-adik dapat memahami bagaimana tanaman tumbuh meski tidak menggunakan media tanah, serta diharapkan juga adik-adik dapat menghasilkan sayur sendiri dengan kualitas yang sehat dan terhindar dari zat berbahaya sehingga dapat memotivasi adik-adik untuk lebih menyukai sayur,\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Respon positif dari Abdullah Hafidz selaku Ketua Yayasan Yatim Daarul Ma\u2019wa yang mengatakan bahwa kegiatan kukayur memberikan ilmu yang jarang ditemukan.
