Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA UI) kembali menggelar webinar MIPAtalk Series. Webinar bertajuk \u201cUncertainty of Geospatial Data and It\u2019s Visualization\u201d ini merupakan seri ketiga webinar MIPAtalk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam agenda MIPATalk Seri ketiga ini menghadirkan Dr. Fatwa Ramdani, S.Si., M.Sc. yang merupakan Graduate School of Humanities and Social Studies, University of Tsukuba, Jepang, sebagai narassumber dan Iqbal Putut Ash Shidiq, M.Sc. Ketua Progam Studi S1 Geografi FMIPA UI sebagai moderator. MIPAtalk series ketiga ini masih diselenggarakan melalui platform Zoom Meeting dan disiarkan secara langsung melalui kanal YouTube resmi FMIPA UI Official.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wakil Dekan Bidang Sumber Daya, Ventura dan Administrasi Umum FMIPA UI, Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si. membuka acara ini. Dalam sambutannya, Dr. Tito menyampaikan \u201cKegiatan MIPAtalk Series ini merupakan komitmen FMIPA UI dalam perwujudan peningkatan wawasan keilmuan di berbagai disiplin ilmu, khususnya ilmu sains seperti geografi, geosains, matematika, fisika kimia dan biologi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKegiatan ini yang Insyaallah akan dilaksanakan setiap dua minggu sekali dengan topik terbaru dari berbagai disiplin ilmu kemipaan. Melalui kegiatan ini kami sangat berharao akan memberikan wawasan keilmuan yang lebih up to date, bukan hanya kepada para dosen tetapi juga kepada para mahasiswa,\u201d lanjut Dr. Tito dalam sambutannya. Beliau juga berharap agar kegiatan ini akan memberikan peluang kolaborasi yang lebih luas antara para peserta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Masuk ke sesi utama yaitu paparan Dr. Fatwa Ramdani, S.Si., M.Sc. sebagai pembicara kunci, dalam presentasinya Dr. Fatwa yang merupakan dosen dan peneliti di Graduate School of Humanities and Social Studies, University of Tsukuba, Jepang tersebut menjelaskan bahwa dari sekian banyak data yang tersebar luas di internet, lebih dari 80 persen data berhubungan dengan lokasi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dijelaskan melalui contoh gambar, banyak informasi grafis yang menjadi konsumsi publik tidak dapat diidentifikasi kevalidasian informasi tersebut. Lebih lanjut, ia menjelaskan bahwa perjalanan data mulai dari data mentah, kemudian disortir, disusun, divisualisasikan, dijelaskan menggunakan cerita, hingga menjadi data yang dapat diterima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tingkatan ketidakpastian data mulai dari rendah ke tinggi berjalan beriringan perjalanan data. Masyarakat mesti kritis terhadap data dan informasi yang disajikan di ruang publik.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Uncertainty<\/em>&nbsp;adalah suatu keadaan tidak pasti, meragukan, membingungkan, dan tidak dapat diprediksi.&nbsp;<em>Geospatial<\/em>&nbsp;menerangkan suatu posisi relatif, \u2018sesuatu\u2019 di atas permukaan bumi. Data adalah bentuk jamak dari datum, yang sering digunakan dalam kajian-kajian statistik, matematis, juga geografis. Visualisasi adalah suatu upaya untuk menggambarkan suatu teknik yang melibatkan berbagai macam pendekatan untuk kemudian memvisualisasikan sesuatu untuk mencapat tujuan tertentu,\u201d jelas Dr. Fatwa membedah makna tajuk materinya kata per kata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pakar Geoinformatics (GIS), Machine Learning, Applied Data Science itu juga menegaskan hal yang harus diperhatikan untuk menekan ketidakpastian adalah perlu berhati-hati dengan sumber data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJangan pernah percaya sepenuhnya pada data yang metadatanya tidak jelas. Jangan pernah gunakan data geospasial dari sumber yang tidak punya reputasi data geospasial yang baik dan jelas. Jangan pernah gunakan data kalau tidak ada informasi kontrol kualitas. Yang terakhir, lakukan komparasi perbandingan, bandingkan data yang sudah anda punya dengan data sumber lain,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ada empat strategi untuk menekan ketidakpastian data geospasial. Pertama, tentukan kebutuhan terlebih dahulu. Kedua, pilih dan sortir kualitas data yang paling bagus. Ketiga, meminimalisir dampak. Kemudian yang terakhir, ambil keputusan menerima atau menolak ketidakpastian. Jika menolak ketidakpastian, kembali lah pada poin nomor dua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cData geospasial itu dapat berkontribusi pada proses pengambilan keputusan. Namun kemudian ada yang namanya&nbsp;<em>uncertainty<\/em>, yaitu konsekuensi logis yang muncul dari adanya kompleksitas fenomena dunia nyata. Kita tidak akan pernah bisa merekonstruksikan realita di dunia nyata ke dalam dunia digital dalam akurasi 100 persen.&nbsp;<em>Uncertainty<\/em>&nbsp;representasinya tidak bisa dipisahkan dari nilai-nilai budaya, politik, sosial, linguistik, itu memainkan peran yang penting.&nbsp;<em>Uncertainty<\/em>&nbsp;tidak bisa kita hindari.
