Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi saat ini menuntut terintegrasinya beberapa bidang ilmu, termasuk di antaranya pada ilmu statistika. Banyak fenomena yang membutuhkan kemampuan analisis untuk dapat memprediksi suatu kejadian yang terkait dengan waktu, dan bagaimana menghitung resiko dari suatu kejadian tersebut baim dalam jangka pendek maupun jangka panjang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sebagai contoh adalah studi mengenai waktu hingga pasien penyakit tertentu sembuh (atau, kambuh) setelah diberikan suatu tindakan medis, atau studi mengenai waktu hingga suatu alat akan rusak, atau studi mengenai waktu hingga seorang klien asuransi akan mengajukan klaim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Berlatar belakang hal tersebut, FMIPA UI bekerjasama dengan MIPAnet menyelenggarakan kegiatan MIPAnet School bertema \u201cAnalisis Survival dan Terapannya dalam Studi Medis dan Reliabilitas\u201d, pada tanggal 24-26 Juni 2019 di Gedung Laboratorium Riset Multidisiplin FMIPA UI \u2013 PT. Pertamina (Persero), Kampus UI, Depok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acara ini melibatkan sebanyak sebanyak 50 orang peserta yang merupakan mahasiswa UI, dan luar UI. hadir sebagai pembicara, yakni Dr. Sarini Abdullah (Departemen Matematika FMIPA UI), Dr. Sri Astuti Thamrin (Fakultas Matematika, Komputasi, dan Sains Data ITS), dan Dr. Santi W Purnami (Departemen Statistika, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris selaku Dekan FMIPA UI. secara resmi membuka acara ini. Dalam sambutannya mengungkapkan bahwa Matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam merupakan ilmu dasar yang menjadi cikal bakal dalam pengembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sedangkan Sekretaris Jendral MIPAnet, Prof. Edy Tri Baskoro, Ph.D. menyampaikan, program MIPAnet School ini dirancang untuk memberikan kesempatan kepada mahasiswa bidang ilmu MIPA agar mendapatkan pengalaman belajar tingkat lanjut dalam topik\/bidang perkuliahan tertentu, serta sebagai wadah bertukar informasi terkini terkait ilmu pengetahuan di antara anggota MIPAnet di seluruh Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Denny R. Silaban, M.Kom., selaku ketua panitia acara menjelaskan, permasalahan yang akan dibahas selama 3 hari ke depan, difokuskan pada bidang medis dan engineering. Contoh masing \u2013 masing pendekatan dari tiga metode: non-parametrik, semi-parametrik, dan parametrik akan diberikan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hasil daari perkuliahan ini, lanjut Denny, diharapkan dapat memperkaya pengetahuan para peserta akan pemodelan statistika pada masalah riil, dan membuka wawasan akan integrasi dari beberapa bidang ilmu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
