{"id":3378,"date":"2016-11-02T07:04:00","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T07:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/?p=3378"},"modified":"2025-08-05T07:05:51","modified_gmt":"2025-08-05T07:05:51","slug":"the-2nd-international-symposium-on-current-progress-in-mathematics-and-sciences-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/id\/the-2nd-international-symposium-on-current-progress-in-mathematics-and-sciences-2016\/","title":{"rendered":"Simposium Internasional ke-2 tentang Kemajuan Terkini dalam Matematika dan Sains 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Selasa (1\/11\/2016) Fakultas MIPA dan Direktorat Riset dan Pengabdian Masyarakat (DRPM) Universitas Indonesia menyelenggarakan&nbsp;<strong>International Symposium on Current Progress in Mathematics and Sciences (ISCPMS) 2016<\/strong>bertempat di The Margo Hotel, Depok. Simposium yang diselenggarakan untuk kedua kalinya ini mengambil tema&nbsp;<em>\u201cExpanding the possibilities for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers in sciences and mathematics\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hadir untuk membuka simposium ini Dirjen Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan Kemenristek Dikti Dr. Muhammad Dimyati.  Mengingat sifat universal dari matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam, simposium ini mengundang tidak hanya peneliti dari negara berkembang, melainkan juga dari negara maju. Simposium ini menghadirkan beberapa ilmuwan terkemuka dari Eropa, Asia dan Australia sebagai keynote speaker.&nbsp;<em>keynote speaker<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para pembicara adalah Prof. Dr. Geert de Snoo dari Universitas Leiden, Belanda. Ia sangat peduli pada keanekaragaman hayati dan kesinambungan di kawasan pedesaan, khususnya terkait pengaruh kimia pada keanekaragaman hayati. Pembicara lainnya adalah Prof. Dr. Hubertus Irth juga dari Universitas Leiden, Selain itu masih ada Prof. Katja Loos dan Prof. Thomas Palstra dari Universitas Groningen, Belanda. Palstra adalah pemilik dari kelompok peneliti utama dalam bidang konduksi elektrik, magnetisme, superkonduktivitas dan ferroelektrik. Ia merupakan anggota the Dutch Royal Academy of Sciences. UI juga mengundang Prof. Phil Pollett dari Universitas Queensland Australia dan Prof. Mohd Hasmadi Ismail dari Universiti Putra Malaysia. Simposium akan mengekspos kemajuan terkini dari matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simposium juga membahas isu-isu di bidang matematika dan aplikasinya, fisika murni dan terapan, ilmu kimia, ilmu biologi, geosains. Semua makalah yang masuk, setelah proses review, akan dipublikasikan di jurnal internasional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wakil Dekan Bidang I Fakultas MIPA UI Prof. Ridla Bakri mengatakan, penelitian yang sukses memberi kontribusi positif kepada negara. \u201cKami melihat meningkatnya beberapa kelompok penelitian yang sukses memberikan kontribusi bagi negara ini,\u201d Ucapnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurutnya gairah penelitian di bidang matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam mulai menunjukkan peningkatan di Indonesia. Namun masih ada beberapa kendala yang menghambat perkembangan di bidang ini.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beliau menambahkan \u201cDukungan dan penghargaan yang selayaknya belum diberikan bagi penelitian dan pengembangan matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam. Hal seperti ini memang lazim terjadi di negara berkembang seperti Indonesia,\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHal tersebut menunjukkan adanya kesadaran bahwa kita bertanggung jawab untuk mengembangkan pengetahuan terkait matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam. Kelompok penelitian ini mengalami beberapa kendala. Kendala tersebut di antaranya terkait dana penelitian dan juga minimnya alat penelitian\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Padahal sudah jelas terbukti bahwa matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam secara susbtansial memberikan kontribusi pada kehidupan sehari-hari, selain juga mendukung pengembangan teknologi terbaru. Di sisi lain, masih ada keterbatasan pengalaman, keahlian dan juga komunikasi di antara para peneliti. Menurut Bakri, hal yang terakhir sesungguhnya sangat penting. \u201cKarena seperti yang telah diketahui, perkembangan matematika dan ilmu pengetahuan alam diuntungkan dari pertukaran ide yang terjadi selama simposium, konferensi, dan forum formal lainnya,\u201d kata ahli toksikologi tersebut.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Djoko Triyono selaku Ketua Pelaksana menyampaikan bahwa kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kerjasama riset dan meningkatkan hasil-hasil riset yang dapat dipublikasikan, beliau menambahkan bahwa lebih dari 200 orang peserta terdaftar dalam simposium ini. \u201cKita harapkan semakin banyak publikasi yang berasal dari Universitas Indonesia khususnya Fakultas MIPA UI untuk publikasi internasional\u201d Imbuhnya.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuesday (1\/11\/2016) the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DRPM) of the University of Indonesia held&nbsp;International Symposium on Current Progress in Mathematics and Sciences (ISCPMS) 2016held at The Margo Hotel, Depok.
