Lebih dari sekadar panorama, bebatuan granit di pulau ini menyimpan kisah magmatik purba yang berkaitan erat dengan kekayaan timah, komoditas yang sejak lama menjadi napas ekonomi Bangka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pada 25 Juni hingga 9 Juli 2025 lalu, tim peneliti dari Program Studi (Prodi) Geologi, Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), menelusuri setiap sudut kawasan utara Bangka. Dipimpin oleh Dr. Reza Syahputra, dosen sekaligus ketua Prodi Geologi FMIPA UI, tim ini menyusuri Menumbing, Pelangas, Belinyu, hingga Tanjung Batu untuk menguak proses terbentuknya tubuh-tubuh granit dan keterkaitannya dengan mineralisasi timah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sci.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/S-24-19-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13240\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPulau Bangka adalah salah satu simpul penting dalam jalur timah Asia Tenggara. Namun dari sisi ilmiah, banyak aspek geologinya masih menjadi teka-teki, terutama bagaimana granit terbentuk dan bagaimana proses itu memengaruhi konsentrasi logam seperti timah,\u201d ujar Dr. Reza saat dihubungi tim humas FMIPA UI di sela kegiatan lapangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelitian ini bukan sekadar eksplorasi lokal. Ini adalah bagian dari kolaborasi internasional antara Universitas Indonesia dan University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS), yang bertujuan merekonstruksi sejarah geologi granit-granit di Bangka sekaligus membuka jalan bagi strategi eksplorasi sumber daya alam yang lebih inovatif dan berkelanjutan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam tim tersebut, mahasiswa dan alumni lintas angkatan ikut terlibat: Muhammad Ibnu Hibban (angkatan 2022), Roy Lance Garancho (2019), dan Mochamad Ikral Pamungkas (2021). Dengan penuh semangat, mereka mengumpulkan data dari 26 titik singkapan granit, menggabungkan metode pemetaan geologi permukaan dengan teknologi geofisika.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the main techniques used is&nbsp;<em>Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility<\/em>&nbsp;Salah satu teknik utama yang digunakan adalah Anisotropy of Magnetic Susceptibility (AMS). Metode ini memungkinkan peneliti \u201cmembaca\u201d arah aliran magma dan pola deformasi batuan yang tersembunyi di balik permukaan bumi, semacam MRI untuk batuan. Sampel yang dikumpulkan kemudian akan dianalisis lebih lanjut di laboratorium untuk mengetahui komposisi mineral dan fabrik magnetik, yang menjadi kunci dalam memahami perjalanan geologis Bangka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sci.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/S-22-9-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13243\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lebih dari sekadar pencarian ilmiah, riset ini membawa misi strategis: membekali Indonesia dengan data dan pendekatan baru dalam eksplorasi mineral. Selain mendukung eksplorasi timah yang lebih tepat sasaran, hasil penelitian juga dapat digunakan sebagai konservasi dan rujukan dasar dalam melakukan eksplorasi sumber daya mineral, terutama timah yang lebih inovatif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKami berharap penelitian ini bisa menjadi pondasi awal untuk pemetaan dan eksplorasi berkelanjutan, tak hanya di Bangka, tapi juga di wilayah-wilayah lain dengan karakteristik geologi serupa,\u201d tutur Dr. Reza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Langkah mereka tak berhenti di sini. Penelitian lanjutan telah direncanakan, dengan fokus beralih ke wilayah selatan Pulau Bangka.
