Indonesia dan negara-negara di kawasan Asia Tenggara dan Pasifik, dinilai sering mengalami bencana alam hidrometeorologi seperti banjir, longsor, abrasi, pasang, angin topan, kekeringan, badai dan kebakaran hutan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hal ini menarik Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) yang merupakan salah satu lembaga riset negara Inggris untuk mengembangkan program riset bersama dengan Indonesia untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan dampak dari bencana hidrometeorologi di wilayah Asia Tenggara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Riset bersama ini dapat dilakukan melalui skema Hibah<em>Newton Fund<\/em>dengan menyediakan dana sebesar \u00a31,5 juta dari pemerintah Inggris untuk jangka waktu 3 tahun. Pendanaan ini akan mendukung sebanyak 3-4 proyek riset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Indonesia melalui Kementrian Riset, Teknologi, dan Pendidikan Tinggi, bekerjasama dengan FMIPA UI, dan NERC, menggelar acara untuk mendiskusikan peluang riset tersebut. Acara UK- South East Asia Researchers Networking Workshop yang bertajuk \u201c<em>Understanding the Impacts of Hydrometeorological Hazards in Southeast Asia,<\/em>\u201d digelar pada hari ini, Selasa (10\/10) di Hotel Santika, Depok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"432\" src=\"https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-10-at-11.19.19-1-1024x576-1-768x432-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3985\" srcset=\"https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-10-at-11.19.19-1-1024x576-1-768x432-1.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-10-at-11.19.19-1-1024x576-1-768x432-1-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-10-at-11.19.19-1-1024x576-1-768x432-1-18x10.jpeg 18w, https:\/\/chem.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/WhatsApp-Image-2017-10-10-at-11.19.19-1-1024x576-1-768x432-1-600x338.jpeg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam acara ini sebanyak 75 orang peserta hadir dari berbagai institusi pendidikan dan penelitian. antara lain, Kemristekdikti, LIPI, BPPT, Universitas Indonesia, British Embassy, dan organisasi internasional pendanaan riset lainnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Para peserta mendiskusikan hal-hal yang menjadi fokus pada program ini, yakni tentang mengkarakterisasi dan prediksi variabel lingkungan yang memengaruhi terjadinya, dampak, dan durasi dari bencana hidrometeorologi dan tantangan riset yang dapat melingkupi:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pemahaman kerentanan pada beberapa Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) terhadapbencana hidrometeorologi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mengeksplorasi berbagai variabel lingkungan berinteraksi dan mengombinasikan parameter-parameter tersebut untuk menentukan potensi bencana hidrometeorologi.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mengeksplorasi bagaimana perubahan manajemen sumber daya air dapat memitigasi potensi bencana hidrometeorologi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Proyek ini diharapkan dapat dilakukan sedekat mungkin dengan pengguna akhir (end-user) untuk memastikan diaplikasikannya hasil penelitian ini oleh pemerintah pusat, pemerintah daerah, bisnis, dan masyarakat lokal untuk membuat keputusan atau kebijakan mengenai manajemen dan mitigasi bencana hidrometeorologi.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DEPOK&#8211; The potential for hydrometeorological disasters and the urgency of climate change are almost universally recognized.
