Melalui kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat bertajuk \u201cSensory Bridge: Inovasi Pendekatan Sensoris untuk Pengembangan Potensi Anak Penyandang Autisme\u201d yang digagas Departemen Biologi, FMIPA UI menciptakan ruang kolaboratif antara akademisi dan masyarakat dalam mendampingi anak-anak dengan spektrum autisme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kegiatan yang berlangsung pada Kamis (10\/7) dan Sabtu (12\/7) di lingkungan FMIPA UI, Depok ini merupakan hasil kolaborasi antara sivitas akademika UI dan Yayasan Rumah Terapi Putra Fitri, serta didukung oleh Direktorat Pengabdian Masyarakat dan Inovasi Sosial (DPIS) UI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ketua Program Sensory Bridge sekaligus Dosen Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI dalam bidang Bioteknologi Molekular dan Reproduksi, Dr. Retno Lestari, S.Si., M.Si., mengatakan program ini bertujuan untuk menciptakan lingkungan yang lebih inklusif dengan menghadirkan ruang belajar yang tidak hanya aman dan nyaman, tetapi juga menyenangkan dan memberdayakan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam kegiatan tersebut, para peserta mengikuti pelatihan pendampingan bersama Ketua Yayasan Rumah Terapi Putra Fitri, Ratna Komara Wangsih. Ia membagikan pengalaman serta pendekatan yang diterapkan dalam mendampingi anak-anak penyandang autisme. Menurutnya, masih banyak masyarakat yang memiliki persepsi kurang tepat terhadap anak-anak dengan kebutuhan khusus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sci.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/WhatsApp-Image-2025-07-21-at-15.30.20-1024x634.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13235\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMereka bukan tidak mampu, hanya perlu metode yang sesuai dan pendekatan yang tepat. Edukasi seperti ini sangat penting untuk membuka perspektif masyarakat,\u201d ujar Ratna.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain itu, program Sensory Bridge juga menghadirkan kegiatan interaktif \u201cPost to Post\u201d dalam lima pos permainan sensoris yang diikuti oleh 19 anak. Anak-anak diajak mengenali aroma bahan alami, menebak suara hewan, mencicipi rasa, hingga menyentuh beragam tekstur. Setiap pos dirancang untuk menstimulasi respons sensorik dengan cara menyenangkan dan inklusif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fadlan dan Fadli, anak kembar penyandang autisme berusia 10 tahun, membagikan pengalaman mereka selama mengikuti kegiatan ini. Mereka menyebut permainan tebak-tebakan suara hewan adalah yang paling menyenangkan dan membuat mereka merasa bersemangat. \u201cHari ini kita main tebak-tebakan suara hewan, seru banget! Aku bisa jawab kucing, burung kakak tua, ayam, sama lembu,\u201d kata Fadlan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain peserta, kegiatan ini turut melibatkan 21 mahasiswa serta delapan dosen dari Departemen Biologi FMIPA UI, yaitu Prof. Dr. Drs. Abinawanto, M.Si.; Prof. Dr. Luthfiralda Sjahfirdi, M.Biomed.; Prof. Dr. Dra. Nining Betawati Prihantini, M.Sc.; Fadhillah, S.Si., M.Agri., Ph.D.; Dr. Upi Chairun Nisa, S.Si., M.Sc.; serta dosen dari Departemen Geografi FMIPA UI, Dra. Astrid Damayanti, M.Si.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Program Sensory Bridge menjadi bukti bahwa inovasi pendidikan dan dedikasi sivitas akademika UI dapat menjadi kekuatan transformatif bagi masyarakat.
