Bailey, pakar fisika kedokteran nuklir dari University of Sydney dan Kepala Departemen Kedokteran Nuklir dari Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney hadir dalam Pertemuan Ilmiah Tahunan Fisika Medis dan Biofisika Indonesia yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) UI di Hotel Santika Depok, Sabtu (12\/8\/2017).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam forum ini Prof. Bailey memaparkan kemajuan dan pemanfaatan teknologi kedokteran nuklir yang banyak digunakan terutama dalam menangani penyakit kanker di Australia. Pemaparannya itu dihadiri sekitar 200 fisikawan medis dan praktisi kedokteran nuklir dari berbagai perguruan tinggi dan rumah sakit di Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Bailey menjelaskan dirinya telah bekerjasama dan banyak memberi pelatihan seputar kedokteran nuklir di Indonesia sejak lama. Dia mengaku salut melihat perkembangan luar biasa terkait pemanfaatan kedokteran nuklir di Indonesia dalam kurun waktu tiga dekade terakhir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSaya datang dan terlibat dalam kedokteran nuklir di Indonesia sejak tahun 1998. Saya ingat tempat pertama yang saya kunjungi, fasilitasnya masih sepenuhnya disokong pendanaan dan listrik di fasilitas itu setiap sore mati,\u201d kenangnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPeralatan hibah yang harganya sangat mahal, tidak digunakan karena tidak ada yang bisa mengoperasikannya dan akhirnya rusak. Tragis sekali,\u201d tambah Prof. Bailey. Namun situasi itu kini telah banyak berubah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSaat ini sudah ada sistem lebih baik yang berjalan. Sudah ada beberapa alat PET\/CT scanner di Jakarta dan Bandung. Beberapa pusat juga menyediakan layanan ini. Alat-alat yang ada memang masih menggunakan teknologi dunia ketiga, tapi mereka sangat mahir dalam menggunakannya. Hal itu sangat membantu,\u201d tambahnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Prof Bailey perkembangan yang ada di Indonesia masih dapat diperluas. Namun kendala berupa dana dan infrastruktur diakuinya masih menjadi isu utama pengembangan sektor ini di negara-negara berkembang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kondisi ini, menurutnya, sangat bisa dimaklumi karena teknologi yang digunakan dalam kedokteran nuklir membutuhkan peralatan yang tidak murah. Padahal Indonesia memiliki banyak isu kesehatan lain yang mungkin perlu diprioritaskan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Namun dia memuji dan mengapresiasi antusiasme pegiat kedokteran nuklir di Indonesia dalam menyikapi keterbatasan tersebut dengan lebih memfokuskan perhatian pada kajian kedokteran nuklir. Misalnya kajian dosimetri, yakni cara menentukan dosis radiofarmaka yang akan disuntikkan ke tubuh pasien agar sesuai dengan kebutuhan individual pasien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIni sesuatu yang sangat mungkin dilakukan. Mereka mampu mengembangkan kepakaran dalam hal ini karena dosimetri tidak butuh sumber daya yang banyak, tidak perlu mesin yang mahal. Hanya perlu secarik kertas dan penghitungan radioaktif. Dan saya pikir Indonesia saat ini memiliki pengetahuan yang jauh lebih kuat dalam bidang yang satu ini dibandingkan dengan di negara-negara berkembang lainnya,\u201d ungkap Prof Bailey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ilmu kedokteran nuklir adalah teknik pengobatan yang melibatkan penggunaan carian radioaktif yang disuntikkan ke dalam tubuh pasien. Cairan tersebut nantinya dapat memancarkan radiasi yang dapat menunjukkan kelainan yang terjadi di dalam tubuh, mulai dari penggumpalan darah di paru-paru atau tumor hingga sel-sel abnormal yang aktif dalam kasus penyakit kanker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kelebihan teknologi ini, menurut Prof Bailey, adalah kemampuannya melakukan pengobatan yang terarah hanya pada sel-sel kanker yang aktif sehingga pengobatan dapat lebih efektif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pemindaian PET\/CT adalah metode dalam kedokteran nuklir untuk mengetahui adanya sel-sel yang aktif didalam tubuh dengan cara pasien diberikan radioaktif perunut (FDG) kemudian dipindai dengan alat mesin Gamma Camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>&nbsp;<\/em>Dan saat ini teknologi kedokteran nuklir telah menjadi perangkat yang umum digunakan dalam penanganan kanker di Australia bersama dengan metode pengobatan lainnya seperti kemoterapi, radioterapi dan imunoterapi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salah satu ukuran kemajuan pemanfaatan teknologi kedokteran nuklir di Australia adalah dengan populasi sekitar 25 juta orang, Australia saat ini memilik sekitar 70 sampai 75 mesin utama dalam kedokteran nuklir, yakni mesin pemindai Positron Emisson Tomography (PET) Scanner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Keunggulan inilah yang menjadikan Australia menjadi negara rujukan utama para fisikawan medis dan praktisi kedokteran di Indonesia yang hendak meningkatkan kapasitas mereka<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sebagaimana dikatakan Dr. Supriyanto Ardjo Prawiro, dari Departemen Fisika FMIPA UI yang juga ketua Aliansi Fisikawan Medik Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAustralia sudah sangat maju pemanfaatan teknologi kedokteran nuklirnya. Kita sudah banyak menjalin kerjasama, terutama untuk model pelatihan klinik atau clinical training dimana kita saat ini juga menggunakan sistem Australia. Banyak staf di FMIPA UI juga yang dikirim studi ke Australia,\u201d jelasnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Supriyanto berharap kerjasama ini ke depan dapat diperluas terutama di bidang riset ilmiah dan pelatihan staf fisikawan medis.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Professor Dale L.
