Muhammad Anis, M.Met. pada Rabu (9\/8\/2017) di Gedung Makara Art Centrum UI, Depok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam pidatonya berjudul \u201cPeran<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>untuk Mendukung Kesejahteraan Masyarakat\u201d, Prof. Wibowo memaparkan bahwa<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>merupakan mikroorganisme yang bermanfaat bagi manusia sebagai penghasil enzim dan obat serta berperan di bidang industri makanan, farmasi, diagnosis penyakit dan rekayasa genetika. Pada industri makanan, sebagai contoh,<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>berperan besar dalam pembuatan kecap. Sedangakan pada dunia farmasi,<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>dimanfaatkan untuk penghasil senyawa antibiotik, antihiperkolesterolemia dan anti kanker.<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>juga dimanfaatkan sebagai penghasil antioksidan yang berfungsi menghambat penyakit degeneratif. Penelitian mengenai manfaat<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>dalam memproduksi antioksidan ini telah dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi FMIPA UI, dimana sebanyak 12 biakan<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>telah diuji dan mampu menghasilkan antioksidan yang paling tinggi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Terkait beragamnya manafaat dan peran<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>tersebut, Prof. Wibowo menuturkan, \u201cMasih banyak hal yang harus dikerjakan sebagai pekerjaan rumah dalam pengembangan genus<em>Aspergillus spp.<\/em>terutama yang diisolasi dari bumi pertiwi Indonesia, merupakan bioprospek yang belum dilakukan eksplorasi. Salah satu kendalanya adalah kesulitan di dalam mengembangkan ilmu dasar di negeri ini.\u201d Prof. Wibowo menyumbangkan saran agar perguruan tinggi dilimpahi sarana dan prasarana sehingga menunjang pengembangan penelitian ilmu dasar.
