Peneliti dari Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Indonesia (UI) melalui Unit Kerja Khusus Laboratorium Sains Terapan (UKK LST) melakukan studi mengenai peran segel penutup botol dalam menjaga higienitas air minum dalam kemasan (AMDK) terhadap potensi kontaminasi dari lingkungan sekitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Kepala Laboratorium Kimia FMIPA UI, Dr.rer.nat. Agustino, S.Si., M.Sc., meskipun proses produksi AMDK telah mengikuti standar sanitasi yang ketat, risiko kontaminasi silang tetap ada selama proses distribusi dan penyimpanan, terutama pada paparan di ruang terbuka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBeberapa mikroorganisme seperti Staphylococcus aureus dan Aspergillus niger diketahui dapat bertahan hidup di permukaan benda mati dalam waktu yang cukup lama. Staphylococcus aureus, misalnya, bisa bertahan hingga empat hari di permukaan stainless steel. Hal ini menunjukkan potensi risiko yang juga bisa terjadi pada permukaan botol plastik,\u201d jelas Agustino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam penelitian ini, tim menggunakan pendekatan simulasi yang merepresentasikan kondisi lingkungan nyata seperti toko kelontong, terminal, dan minimarket, serta uji ekstrem di laboratorium. Botol air minum dengan dan tanpa segel pelindung diuji setelah dipaparkan pada debu dan mikroorganisme selama 1 hingga 6 jam. Fokus utama pengujian adalah pada akumulasi partikel debu, koloni bakteri, dan kapang pada area tutup dan leher botol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan segel penutup botol secara signifikan mengurangi tingkat kontaminasi. Dalam kondisi laboratorium ekstrem, segel menunjukkan efektivitas tinggi dalam menahan masuknya debu dan mikroorganisme. Temuan ini memperkuat pentingnya inovasi desain kemasan AMDK untuk menjamin keamanan produk hingga sampai ke tangan konsumen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Studi ini sekaligus menjadi contoh nyata penerapan riset ilmiah di ranah industri dan kesehatan masyarakat. Wakil Rektor Bidang Riset dan Inovasi UI, Prof. Dr. Hamdi Muluk, M.Si., menyampaikan bahwa riset semacam ini memperlihatkan kontribusi ilmiah UI yang berdampak langsung. \u201cPenelitian ini menunjukkan bagaimana pendekatan sains dapat memberikan solusi praktis untuk tantangan di masyarakat, selaras dengan misi UI sebagai institusi yang unggul dan berdampak,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>FMIPA UI berkomitmen untuk terus mengembangkan riset terapan yang dapat menjawab persoalan nyata dan memberikan manfaat langsung bagi masyarakat luas, khususnya dalam bidang keamanan pangan dan kesehatan lingkungan.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Depok, May 21, 2025.
