Siwabessy, Depok. Dalam sidang tersebut, promovenda Dr. Yati Maryati, yang merupakan peneliti dari Pusat Riset Kimia, Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional (BRIN) berhasil mempertahankan disertasinya yang berjudul&nbsp;<em>\u201cPengembangan Tablet Hisap Berbahan Eksipien Mikrokristalin Selulosa SCOBY dengan Kandungan Bahan Bioaktif Kombucha\u201d<\/em>. Ia dinyatakan lulus dengan predikat&nbsp;<strong>cumlaude<\/strong>&nbsp;dan meraih Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK)&nbsp;<strong>3,88<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelitian ini memfokuskan pada pengembangan tablet hisap berbasis bahan alami dan ramah lingkungan, yakni dari mikrokristalin selulosa (MS) yang dihasilkan dari&nbsp;<em>SCOBY (Kultur Simbiotik Bakteri dan Ragi)<\/em>&nbsp;lapisan gel hasil fermentasi kombucha berbagai substrat dari buah dan sayur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPenelitian ini lahir dari keprihatinan terhadap ketergantungan industri farmasi nasional terhadap bahan baku impor, khususnya eksipien berbasil selulosa tumbuhan. Kami berupaya menawarkan solusi berbasis biomassa lokal yang lebih berkelanjutan melalui pemanfaatan limbah fermentasi kombucha,\u201d ungkap Dr. Yati dalam presentasinya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Dr. Yati selulosa bakteri yang dihasilkan oleh SCOBY memiliki sejumlah keunggulan signifikan dibandingkan selulosa konvensional yang berasal dari tumbuhan. Salah satu keunggulan utama adalah ketiadaan lignin dan hemiselulosa, dua komponen yang biasanya terdapat dalam dinding sel tumbuhan dan harus dihilangkan melalui proses kimia yang kompleks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain itu, selulosa bakteri memiliki kemurnian yang lebih tinggi dan sifat fisik yang unggul, seperti kohesivitas (daya lekat antar partikel yang baik) dan porositas (tingkat pori-pori) yang sangat sesuai untuk digunakan dalam aplikasi farmasi bentuk padat, seperti tablet atau kapsul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSecara ilmiah, selulosa bakteri dari SCOBY memiliki sejumlah keunggulan dibanding MS konvensional, seperti bebas lignin dan hemiselulosa, kemurnian tinggi, serta sifat fisik unggul seperti kohesivitas dan porositas yang ideal untuk aplikasi farmasi padat,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam risetnya, SCOBY diolah menjadi selulosa bakteri (SBS), lalu dimodifikasi menjadi mikrokristalin selulosa (MS-SBS) melalui proses hidrolisis asam. Bahan ini kemudian diformulasikan menjadi tablet hisap nutrasetikal, yang diperkaya dengan senyawa bioaktif dari ekstrak kombucha yang difermentasi menggunakan substrat lokal seperti daun katuk, kale, jambu biji merah, pisang, dan buah naga. Kombinasi ini menghasilkan tablet dengan kandungan antioksidan tinggi dan potensi sebagai sediaan gizi-fungsional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sci.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/DSC_1456-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12919\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Penelitian ini juga merespons tantangan lingkungan dari industri kombucha yang menghasilkan limbah SCOBY dalam jumlah besar. Dengan proyeksi pasar kombucha global yang mencapai USD 7,46 miliar pada 2027 (The Business Research Company, 2023), inovasi ini menurut Dr. Yati membuka peluang pemanfaatan limbah menjadi produk bernilai tambah tinggi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lebih jauh, penelitian ini juga mendukung kebijakan nasional dalam meningkatkan kemandirian bahan baku farmasi, sebagaimana tertuang dalam Kepmenkes HK.01.07\/MENKES\/1333\/2023 dan HK.01.07\/MENKES\/163\/2024, yang mendorong pemanfaatan Produk Dalam Negeri (PDN) dan substitusi impor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selaku promotor, Dr. Yasman menyampaikan apresiasinya atas capaian disertasi ini. Ia menekankan bahwa riset yang dilakukan oleh Dr. Yati Maryati tidak hanya berangkat dari laboratorium, tetapi juga menjawab kebutuhan nyata di lapangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPenelitian Dr. Yati ini saya kira bukan hanya sebagai inovasi yang lahir dari laboratorium, tetapi juga menunjukkan bahwa limbah fermentasi seperti kombucha bisa diubah menjadi sediaan farmasi yang bernilai tinggi dan ramah lingkungan,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lebih lanjut, Dr. Yasman menyatakan bahwa pendekatan berbasis sumber daya hayati lokal yang dilakukan Dr. Yati selaras dengan arah kebijakan nasional menuju kemandirian farmasi dan pengurangan ketergantungan pada bahan impor. Ia juga melihat potensi besar dari riset ini untuk dikembangkan lebih lanjut dalam skala industri, khususnya dalam pemanfaatan biomassa agroindustri yang selama ini belum banyak tersentuh oleh sektor farmasi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cTentu ini bisa jadi kontribusi nyata bagi pengembangan teknologi farmasi hijau, yang mendukung keberlanjutan lingkungan dan industri nasional,\u201d imbuhnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sci.ui.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/DSC_1516-3-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-12920\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Yati Maryati menyampaikan terima kasih kepada berbagai pihak yang telah mendukung risetnya, termasuk Rumah Program Nanoteknologi dan Material (ORNM), Manajemen Talenta BRIN melalui skema Degree by Research, serta fasilitas riset di laboratorium Karakterisasi Lanjut Kimia,  Laboratorium Fisika, dan Laboratorium Cara Pembuatan Obat Tradisional yang Baik (CPOTB) \u2013 BRIN, serta Laboratorium FIKES UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta. Ucapan khusus juga disampaikan kepada Kelompok Riset Kimia Organik dan Nutrasetikal di Pusat Riset Kimia- BRIN, Departemen Biologi- FMIPA UI serta para mahasiswa dan asisten peneliti yang terlibat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sidang terbuka ini dipimpin oleh Dekan FMIPA UI, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D., yang bertindak sebagai Ketua Sidang.
