Ariadne Lakshmidevi Juwono, M.Eng., Ph.D., dikukuhkan sebagai Guru Besar Tetap Bidang Ilmu Material Komposit Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA), Universitas Indonesia (UI). Pengukuhan tersebut dipimpin oleh Rektor UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., dan berlangsung di Balai Sidang UI, Depok, pada Rabu (08\/01\/2025). Prof. Ariadne menyampaikan pidato pengukuhan berjudul \u201cKomposit Hijau dari Bahan Alam sebagai Material Maju dan Berkelanjutan\u201d dan menjadi Guru Besar UI ke-2 yang dikukuhkan pada tahun 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Pada pidato pengukuhannya yang bertajuk Komposit Hijau dari Bahan Alam sebagai Material Maju dan Berkelanjutan, Prof. Ariadne menjelaskan pentingnya pengembangan komposit ramah lingkungan untuk keberlanjutan masa depan. \u201cKomposit hijau menjadi salah satu bahan yang dikembangkan dengan mempertimbangkan bahan yang lebih mudah terurai untuk keberlangsungan lingkungan. Komposit biodegradable adalah komposit yang salah satu bahan penyusunnya mudah terurai; sedangkan komposit hijau adalah komposit yang semua bahan penyusunnya mudah terurai, ramah lingkungan, dan mempunyai nilai keberlanjutan,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Prof. Ariadne, Indonesia memiliki potensi besar dalam pengembangan komposit hijau karena kekayaan bahan alam, termasuk tanah lempung jenis montmorillonite (MMT). Tanah lempung ini memiliki struktur lapisan yang unik sehingga cocok dimanfaatkan sebagai penguat dalam komposit berbasis polimer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPenelitian komposit berpenguat tanah lempung sedang dan akan dilanjutkan dengan penggunaan matriks yang mudah terdegradasi, seperti polimer alam atau limbah biomassa,\u201d tuturnya. Prof. Ariadne juga menyoroti komposit hibrida yang menggabungkan serat alam dan serat sintetis, yang berpotensi sebagai bahan struktural masa depan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain itu, penelitian Prof. Ariadne mencakup pemanfaatan limbah biomassa, seperti daun nanas dan tandan kelapa sawit, untuk bahan penguat komposit. \u201cLimbah biomassa menjadi satu hal yang perlu mendapat perhatian karena Indonesia merupakan salah satu penghasil limbah biomassa terbesar di dunia. Penelitian ini sedang berjalan untuk menghasilkan solusi yang lebih ramah lingkungan,\u201d katanya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Ariadne juga menekankan pentingnya kolaborasi dengan universitas dan institusi riset di dalam maupun luar negeri untuk menciptakan hasil penelitian yang memberikan dampak luas. \u201cHarapan saya, dan juga para peneliti saintek di UI, semoga UI senantiasa terus melengkapi fasilitas penelitian yang sudah ada dengan peralatan-peralatan yang canggih dan mumpuni,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sebagai akademisi yang produktif, Prof. Ariadne telah mempublikasikan berbagai penelitian, termasuk kajian tentang komposit berbasis tanah lempung, polimer alam, hingga limbah biomassa. Beberapa karyanya antara lain: Preparation, Characterization, and Decomposition Test on Tapanuli Organoclay Reinforced Cellulose Acetate\/Cellulose Acetate Butyrate Blend Composites (2024) dan Analyzing the Influences of Fabrication Methods on the Mechanical Properties of Sumberejo Kenaf\/Epoxy Sandwich Composites with Polyurethane Foam Core I (2024).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Acara pengukuhan ini dihadiri oleh berbagai tokoh penting, seperti Rektor UI Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU., dan sejumlah akademisi serta praktisi lainnya. Kehadiran mereka semakin menegaskan pentingnya penelitian komposit hijau sebagai langkah menuju keberlanjutan lingkungan dan kemajuan ilmu material di Indonesia.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Dra.
