Selain berkaitan dengan stabilitas lereng tambang dan keselamatan kerja, pengelolaan geoteknik juga berpengaruh pada efisiensi produksi hingga keberlanjutan proses bisnis perusahaan tambang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Isu tersebut menjadi sorotan dalam seminar mingguan UI Geoscience Seminar (UIGS) X Starborn Mengajar yang diselenggarakan oleh Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) pada Senin, 2 Maret 2026 di Aula Prof. Dr. G. A. Siwabessy, FMIPA UI, Depok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seminar bertajuk \u201cMining Geotechnical: Key Factor of Strategic Mining Business Processes and How Newcoming Engineer to Deal with It\u201d tersebut menghadirkan Ir. Rieza Rachmat Putra, S.T., M.Si., CP, Corporate Geotechnical &amp; Geology Lead di PT Petrosea Tbk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kegiatan ini diikuti sekitar 80 mahasiswa Program Studi Geologi dan Program Studi Geofisika FMIPA UI. Melalui kegiatan ini, mahasiswa memperoleh gambaran mengenai penerapan keilmuan geosains dalam praktik industri, khususnya dalam pengambilan keputusan teknis dan pengelolaan risiko di sektor pertambangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam pemaparannya, Rieza menekankan pentingnya strategic mindset bagi para professional tambang yang akan terjun ke industri pertambangan. Menurut dia, kompleksitas operasional tambang menuntut kemampuan berpikir strategis agar setiap keputusan tidak hanya menyelesaikan persoalan teknis, tetapi juga mendukung keberlanjutan bisnis perusahaan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStrategic mindset membantu kita melihat permasalahan secara lebih menyeluruh sehingga keputusan yang diambil tidak hanya menyelesaikan masalah saat ini, tetapi juga mendukung tujuan jangka panjang perusahaan,\u201d ujarnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ia menjelaskan, pengembangan pola pikir strategis tidak terlepas dari penerapan knowledge management sebagai landasan dalam proses pengambilan keputusan. Pendekatan tersebut, kata dia, dapat diterapkan dengan menggunakan prinsip golden rule melalui parameter 4W + 1H agar setiap langkah yang diambil memiliki tujuan yang jelas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cKnowledge management menjadi fondasi penting dalam berpikir strategis. Dengan memahami apa yang kita ketahui, apa yang perlu diketahui, dan bagaimana cara mendapatkannya, proses pengambilan keputusan dapat dilakukan dengan lebih tepat,\u201d kata Rieza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dalam kesempatan itu, ia juga menjelaskan perbedaan antara hazard dan risk yang kerap ditemui di lingkungan kerja, terutama dalam industri pertambangan. Pemahaman terhadap kedua konsep tersebut dinilai penting dalam menyusun strategi managing the risk atau pengelolaan risiko secara sistematis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Selain itu, Rieza memaparkan bahwa pengambilan keputusan dalam industri pertambangan umumnya terbagi dalam tiga tingkatan, yakni strategic decision, tactical decision, dan operational decision. Ketiga tingkatan tersebut saling berkaitan dalam menentukan arah kebijakan perusahaan hingga implementasi teknis di lapangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menurut Rieza, forum seperti seminar ini juga penting bagi mahasiswa karena memberikan perspektif mengenai tantangan nyata yang dihadapi di lapangan. Selain memperdalam pemahaman keilmuan, mahasiswa juga dapat memahami pentingnya komunikasi, diskusi tim, serta analisis risiko dalam praktik kerja di industri pertambangan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Menutup sesi pemaparannya, Rieza berpesan kepada mahasiswa yang akan memasuki dunia profesional untuk membangun kemampuan observasi sejak awal karier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSelama enam bulan pertama bekerja, jadilah pendengar yang baik. Dengan banyak mendengar dan mengamati, kita dapat memahami kondisi lapangan secara utuh sebelum memberikan analisis maupun rekomendasi solusi,\u201d tuturnya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kegiatan kemudian dilanjutkan dengan sesi tanya jawab yang berlangsung interaktif. Sejumlah peserta mengangkat pertanyaan terkait penerapan opportunity cost dalam proses produksi tambang, aspek keselamatan kerja, serta strategi yang dapat dilakukan ketika menghadapi keterbatasan data dalam pengambilan keputusan di lapangan.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Geotechnical aspects are one of the crucial factors in mining industry operations.
