Two Study Programs (Prodi) of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) have successfully achieved ‘Excellent’ accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT).
The two study programs are Master of Materials Science and Bachelor of Biology. This achievement is based on the Decree (SK) of BAN-PT No. 2033/SK/BAN-PT/AK-ISK/M/III/2022, and SK BAN-PT No. 2363/SK/BAN-PT/AK-ISK/S/IV/2022.
Starting in 2020, BAN-PT changed the accreditation rating from A, B, and C to Excellent, Very Good, and Good. Study programs that have an A Accreditation rating can equalize their accreditation status to Excellent with the Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK) or convert from International accreditation. In this case, the predicate ‘Excellent’ indicates that the quality and quality of education at the FMIPA UI Study Program meets the requirements and has been recognized by the government.
Dede Djuhana, Dean of FMIPA UI, expressed his appreciation to the staff and academic community for this achievement. He said, “We hope that the ‘Excellent’ ranking obtained by each study program will be an encouragement to improve the quality of the implementation of study programs for international accreditation exploration. This is a form of recognition of the quality of the implementation and governance of our study programs.”
However, he continued, the study program must still maintain its quality as a form of the faculty’s responsibility to the community, the students. stakeholders, dan masyarakat.
Then the Head of the Academic Quality Assurance Unit (UPMA) Dr. Denny R. Silaban, M.Kom. said that this superior accreditation rating was obtained through the equivalence of the A accreditation rating, using the Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK).
Furthermore, Dr. Denny said that in addition to the Master of Materials Science and Bachelor of Biology study programs, 4 (four) other study programs have also received an Excellent rating in 2021 through the Conversion Supplement Instrument (ISK).
The four study programs are Doctor of Chemistry, Bachelor of Physics, Bachelor of Mathematics, and Bachelor of Geography. Meanwhile, another study program, namely Bachelor of Chemistry, obtained an Excellent rating in 2020 through conversion from the international accreditation of the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC).
“So that currently there are 7 (seven) study programs in FMIPA that have obtained the Excellent accreditation rating from BAN-PT,” said Dr. Denny.
