Inauguration and Graduation Ceremony for FMIPA UI Graduates Semester ATA 2014/2015

Thursday (24/8/2015) at Building B Room 101, FMIPA UI held an inauguration and thanksgiving ceremony for FMIPA UI graduates for the 2014/2015 academic year. The ceremony was officially opened by the Dean of FMIPA UI, Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, attended by the Faculty’s Board of Professors, the Faculty’s Academic Senate, Managers, FMIPA UI Teaching Staff, representatives of the FMIPA UI Alumni Association, and 415 graduation participants.

Prof. Dr. Terry Mart, in his speech as the Chair of the Faculty’s Board of Professors, inspired and motivated the new graduates of FMIPA UI through the story of Steve Jobs.

The Dean of FMIPA UI in his speech, told the graduates to continue to develop their creativity, because every individual certainly has the potential for creativity. Moreover, Indonesia is currently entering an era of change and multidimensional crisis, so it is also necessary to increase independence, in order to play a role in the future and more challenging ones. Unlike Prof. Dr. Terry Mart who motivated the graduates through Steve Job’s life story, Dr.rer.nat. Abdul Haris motivated them by telling stories about Gojeg, a two-wheeled transportation service company that is currently developing with the support of applications that make it easier for customers, this is one solution to the problem of employment. Dr.rer.nat Abdul Haris also really hopes that all FMIPA UI graduates will not depend on finding jobs but instead create jobs for themselves or even the Indonesian people as a solution to the nation’s economic problems.

The graduation procession was then continued with the inauguration of the male and female graduates by the Dean of FMIPA UI, and the awarding of awards to the best graduates of FMIPA UI. The event ended with a group photo between the male and female graduates with the Dean and his staff.
