Saturday (10/4/2021) Universitas Indonesia held an online Inauguration Ceremony for UI Professors for the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, and Faculty of Law. The inauguration ceremony was led directly by the Chancellor of Universitas Indonesia Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D.

Prof. Dr. Azwar Manaf, M. Met. delivered his inaugural speech entitled: RARE EARTH METAL PERMANENT MAGNETS: THEIR ROLE IN THE ERA OF THE FOUR-POINT ZERO INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION.

Prof. Azwar completed his undergraduate and doctoral education at various universities. In 1977-1982 he studied at Gadjah Mada University, then in 1983-1985 he continued his education at UI, in 1987-1993 he studied for a master’s and doctoral degree at The University of Sheffield, UK. Azwar once served as Head of the Physics Department, FMIPA UI in 2006-2008. He also served as Commission 3 of the Regional Research Council of DKI Jakarta Province.

At this inauguration event, invited guests were present, including the Head of the LIPI Metallurgy and Materials Research Center Prof. Dr. Nurul Taufiqu Rochman M.Eng., Chair of the UI Board of Professors Prof. Harkristuti Harkrisnowo, S.H., M.A., Ph.D, Chair of the Academic Senate Prof. Nachrowi Djalal Nachrowi, M.Sc., M.Phill., Ph.D, Prof. Dr. Ing. Ir. Priyono Soetikno DEA (Professor of the Bandung Institute of Technology), Prof. Dr. Ir. Indarto, DEA. (Professor of Gadjah Mada University), Prof. Dr-Eng. Prabowo, Ir. M.Eng. (Professor of the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology), as well as deans/directors of faculties/postgraduate/vocational education programs at UI. The event was also broadcasted via UIteve and the official UI Youtube channel.
