Scope
Biochemistry is one branch of science that focuses on the structure and function of biological molecules such as proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates, lipids, etc. Biochemistry brings together chemistry and biology, explores chemical and biological processes in cellular and molecular level. By using chemical theories and application, for instance, biochemists should comprehend the function of a molecule with the relation to its structure, enabling them to presume how molecules will interact.
Biochemistry covers a wide range of scientific division, namely microbiology, medicines, forensics, etc. In this case, biochemists are recommended to have a strong background of natural sciences. They are expected to have many transferable skills, such as analytical, communication, research, problem solving, numerical, written, observational as well as planning.
