
In order to provide an understanding of the importance of Occupational Health and Safety (K3) aspects, the Research and Community Service (RPM) Unit of FMIPA UI is again holding an event In-Class Training : Laboratory Safety, acara ini merupakan pelatihan lanjutan dari In Class Training : Penerapan K3 di Laboratorium yang telah diadakan sebelumnya (31/03/2015).
This event is a collaboration between the RPM FMIPA UI unit and UPT K3L UI. Specifically on this day, Tuesday (07/04/2015), the training is intended for students of the Biology Department of FMIPA UI, where in the previous training it reached the most participants, namely more than 200 students. The event was opened by the Manager of RPM FMIPA UI, Dr. Djoko Triyono yang memberikan penjelasan tentang pentingnya kepedulian dalam membangun kesadaran berperilaku mahasiswa dalam kegiatan yang dilakukan di laboratorium.

Dr. rer. nat. Budiawan as a training resource person who currently also serves as the Safety Coordinator at the UI K3L UPT, he is also an expert in the field of Chemical Toxicology, emphasizing the importance of understanding the K3 aspects in the laboratory, “… when we work in the laboratory, especially using hazardous chemicals, whether we like it or not, there is always a risk that can arise.”
The enthusiasm of the training participants from the Department of Biology was seen from the increasing number of training participants from before. In addition, this activity was also enlivened by the presence of door prizes presented by the supplier of work safety equipment brand 3M who distributed their products to students who managed to answer the quiz questions given to them correctly.
