The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) once again demonstrated its commitment to advancing science education and research at the national level through its active participation in the 2026 MIPAnet Working Meeting. The event, held on April 12–15, 2026 at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Malang, brought together representatives from Faculties of Mathematics and Natural Sciences from various universities across Indonesia.
The presence of the Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., who also serves as the Vice Chair for Educational Cooperation within the MIPAnet network, underscores FMIPA UI’s strategic role in fostering collaboration among universities. In this forum, FMIPA UI not only participated as a delegate, but also contributed to shaping the direction of educational cooperation and strengthening the national academic network.
“FMIPA UI views this forum as a strategic step in aligning policy directions while strengthening tangible contributions to the development of science at both the national and global levels,” said Prof. Tito to the FMIPA UI Public Relations team.
Through the MIPAnet forum, FMIPA UI actively engaged in exchanging best practices in the management of education and research. The open discussions were used to explore various innovative approaches implemented across different campuses, while also strengthening FMIPA UI’s position as one of the key drivers of scientific development in Indonesia.
“Forums like MIPAnet are always valuable spaces for us—not only for discussion, but also for learning from one another and sharing experiences. Through meetings like this, we can grow together and strengthen the contribution of science to society,” he added.

One of the key agenda items was the dissemination of Ministerial Regulation of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Permendikti Saintek) Number 52 of 2025, which governs the profession, career pathways, and remuneration of lecturers. FMIPA UI views this policy as a momentum to strengthen human resource development systems, particularly in supporting sustainable and performance-based academic careers.
In addition, discussions on strategies for international collaboration and laboratory governance were also key highlights. In this context, FMIPA UI advocates for strengthening cross-border partnerships and improving the quality of research facility management as part of efforts to enhance global competitiveness.
FMIPA UI’s participation in MIPAnet also opens up concrete opportunities to expand collaborative networks, both in education and research. The outcomes of the discussions in this forum are expected to be implemented in various strategic programs, including curriculum development, collaborative research, and institutional capacity building.
As part of MIPAnet’s regular agenda, this activity serves as an important platform for maintaining continuous communication and synergy among Faculties of Mathematics and Natural Sciences across Indonesia. Moving forward, FMIPA UI is committed to continuing to take an active role in MIPAnet—not only as a participant, but also as an initiator of collaborations with broad impact on the advancement of science in Indonesia.
