Saturday, August 20, 2022, is the last day of the Introduction to the Academic System of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (PSAF MIPA UI), in order to welcome new students of the FMIPA UI undergraduate program for the 2022/2023 Academic Year.
The highlight of this event, a significant moment for all new students, was made even more festive by the arrival of all the new students in person at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI campus in Depok. They gathered in the plaza area of the main lecture building of FMIPA UI since morning.
That day, the main lecture hall, standing majestically with its iconic makara garden, once again witnessed the momentum that marked the beginning of their struggle on the blue-and-black campus. This moment of togetherness finally returned after two years of PSAF MIPA UI activities being held online due to physical distancing regulations resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.
This event was enlivened by Creative Dynamics, namely a short discussion between mentors and new FMIPA UI 2022 students who were divided into several small groups, the aim of which was to review the material during the PSAF series of events.
There was also a Permas Teatrikal filled by the Student Movement division which presented an oration with the theme “I am Proud to be a UI FMIPA Student” to encourage the enthusiasm of new students in making their best contributions.
Another activity was the Institutional Display, a session that featured promotions from each semi-autonomous institution within the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UI. The event was further enhanced by a funpost-to-postgame across all departments within the faculty, complete with various challenges. The purpose of this game was to familiarize new students with the FMIPA UI environment firsthand.
To conclude the series of activities, the PSAF MIPA UI held a New Student Arts Performance as its culmination. This arts performance showcased the work of new students from each department, ranging from song performances by music groups from the Geography Department, the Geology & Geophysics Department, and the Mathematics Department, to modern dance from the Chemistry Department, theatrical music from the Physics Department, and a theater performance by a group of new students from the Biology Department.
