The FMIPA UI Team won 2nd place in the Virtual Fun Walk Competition held by the University of Indonesia to celebrate its 72nd anniversary.
This was conveyed by drg. Nurtami, Ph. D., Sp, OF(K), Vice Rector for Research and Innovation on Tuesday (22/2) at the peak of the 72nd Anniversary of the University of Indonesia which was broadcast online via live on the official UI YouTube channel.
“The COVID-19 pandemic is not an obstacle to continuing various activities, one of which is walking. Some health experts even say that walking 10,000 steps a day will provide health benefits, which is why we are holding a virtual walking competition,” said Drg. Nurtami.
He explained that the assessment components consisted of cohesiveness, creativity, and health protocols.
The team consisting of Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M. Si., Annisa Nurul Fitri, Sulardi, Gatot Sugiyantoro, Sudir, Arida Ika Yulianti, Nila Zuraidah, and M. Ramlih managed to achieve a score of 548.
“Congratulations to the winners. We hope this inspires us all to exercise regularly and maintain our health during the pandemic,” said Dr. Nurtami, commending the winners.
In addition to walking a minimum of 10,000 steps, the competition’s requirements include documenting the walk and including screenshots showing the number of steps. All of this information is then packaged into a creative, one-minute video and uploaded to the participant’s or faculty’s social media accounts.
