Depok, September 4, 2019, the University of Indonesia through FMIPA UI, collaborated with UMG Idealab Indonesia in the fields of education, research, and community service related to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Applied Science.
This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by UI Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ir. Muhammad Anis, M.Met. and UMG Idealab Indonesia CEO Kiwi Aliwarga at the FMIPA UI Depok Dean’s Building on Wednesday (4/9).
Through this collaboration, both parties will produce a learning center and laboratory named “AI Learning and Inovation Center” with FMIPA UI as the AI Laboratory Coordinator.
The learning center and laboratory located in the Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia, can later be used as a research facility by lecturers, and also as a learning facility for students from elementary, middle, high school, and university levels.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology currently plays a crucial role in the development of future innovations. AI is believed to be able to assist humans in various ways. AI is one technology that could revolutionize human history as a whole, particularly in areas such as automation and massive data processing.
UMG Idealab is a venture capital firm dedicated to developing start-ups to build the nation. Some of the successful start-ups include BOTIKA, FROGS, MSMB, BAHASAKITA, WIDYA, ARUNA, CROWDE, SOCIABUZZ, PROSEHAT, PERAWATKU, ARUTALA, AUTOCONZ, and others across Indonesia.
Following the establishment of cooperation with the University of Indonesia, it is hoped that further cooperation can be carried out, both national and international, in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Applied Science towards the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
