Depok, January 7, 2022. The Chancellor of the University of Indonesia (UI) inaugurated and took the oath of office of the vice deans of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences UI for the 2021-2025 period, namely the Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs Dr. rer. nat. Budiawan, and the Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si. along with 16 Vice Deans from several other faculties within UI.
In the inauguration ceremony, UI Chancellor Prof. Ari Kuncoro, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., as the ceremony instructor, also inaugurated the dean of the Faculty of Engineering and the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, attended by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees Saleh Husin, M.Si., and the Chairman of the University Academic Senate Prof. Nachrowi Djalal Nachrowi, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D. as witnesses.
The inauguration was conducted in a hybrid manner, namely offline at each faculty and in the UI leadership’s office.
In his speech, Prof. Ari Kuncoro congratulated the newly inaugurated Deans and Vice Deans. He expressed his hope that the new leadership would bring renewed enthusiasm and inspiration to UI.
The Chancellor also expressed his gratitude to the former Dean and Vice Dean for their extraordinary contributions. “The positive things you leave behind will be your legacy,” he said.
“The Deans and Vice Deans are like torchbearers who must always be at the forefront. Their flame must never be extinguished, as it guides the faculty members toward a common goal,” said Prof. Ari.
The UI Chancellor believes that everyone has the same hopes and beliefs to bring UI to that point.
“Namely, UI holds a prestigious position in terms of national and global rankings, produces leading-edge research and innovation, and has an impact on society, as well as achievements by UI lecturers and students in their fields of study.
“Together, we will make UI an Entrepreneurial University,” said Prof. Ari.
Dean of FMIPA UI Dede Djuhana, Ph. D. also conveyed his congratulations to the new staff directly at the Sinarmas Hall, Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, FMIPA UI – PT Pertamina (Persero), Depok.
In his remarks, he hoped that the vice deans of FMIPA UI would carry out their duties as well as possible and bring FMIPA UI’s progress to the world stage.
Furthermore, Dede invited all academicians to jointly take part in realizing the vision and mission of FMIPA UI, and to build FMIPA UI even better.
“We also ask for the support of the FMIPA UI academic community so that we can carry out this task as well as possible, and bring FMIPA UI to the world stage and be well recognized,” he said.
Previously on December 10, 2021, the UI Chancellor had inaugurated 10 new Deans within UI who came from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Cultural Sciences.
