The Jakarta branch of Taekwondo Indonesia, supported by the Indonesian Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Jakarta Provincial Youth and Sports Agency, held the 2018 Jakarta Cup Taekwondo Championship on May 5-6, 2018, at the Ciracas Sports Hall in East Jakarta.
In the competition, Rizka Tri R (Geography 2017), a student from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, won the gold medal, competing against 10 clubs and performing twice, using the taeguk 6 and sipjin techniques.
The assessment is based on beauty, power, speed, cohesiveness, and so on. His victory earned him a total score of 78.9.
When interviewed by the UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) public relations team, the 18-year-old admitted that she has been practicing taekwondo since junior high school. She has also participated in several city and national taekwondo championships.
She attributed her achievements in the Jakarta-level taekwondo championship to her hard work and perseverance. She admitted that she truly enjoys the sport, which originated in the land of ginseng. When asked about her preparations for the Jakarta-level taekwondo championship, she admitted that she didn’t do much other than practice diligently.
