13 FMIPA UI Students Will Explore Studying Abroad Through IISMA 2022

A total of 13 students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) have successfully qualified to receive the 2022 Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) scholarship, and are ready to explore the experience of studying with other foreign students at leading partner universities in the world for one semester.

Participants underwent selection in April 2022, with departure schedules starting from May to September.

The IISMA program is one form of the implementation of the Independent Learning-Independent Campus Program launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia. This program aims to provide rights and opportunities for students to develop their competencies and knowledge, as well as provide study experiences at overseas universities.

Dean of FMIPA UI Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. expressed his appreciation to all of his students. According to him, this success cannot be separated from the support and collaboration of the academic community and also the education staff.

He also emphasized that the leadership ranks in the FMIPA UI environment from the faculty level to the study program often motivate students to actively participate in self-development activity programs which are part of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program, one of which is IISMA.

“Leaders at the faculty level, up to the study program, encourage each student to get involved in this scholarship program. This program is a very good opportunity for them to develop themselves according to their respective interests and gain more and more diverse learning experiences,” said Dean Dede.

He also advised the students to take up this good opportunity with enthusiasm in order to get maximum learning results and broader knowledge.
