Instrument Laboratory and Services (UI-Chem)

Facility > Laboratory > Instrument Laboratory and Services (UI-Chem)

UI Chem Lab, previously known as the UI Chemistry Affiliation Lab, was established as a manifestation of the third pillar of the university’s Tridharma: community service and engagement. Founded in 1980 at the Chemistry Department, FMIPA Universitas Indonesia, Salemba, the lab shifted its activities to the Depok campus in 1987, following FMIPA UI’s relocation. Since 2014, it has been renamed as UI Chem Lab.

Starting as a research laboratory supported by advanced technological equipment, UI Chem Lab has grown into an institution that provides analytical services, consultation, and training.

Currently, we have a team of well-trained analysts who are capable of performing basic and advanced chemical analyses using instrumentation. To ensure excellent service quality, we adhere to ISO 17025 quality assurance standards. Our analysis methods are based on international standards and Indonesian National Standards (SNI). In addition, we are equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation.

We also offer training programs in chemical instrumentation. These programs are highly beneficial for company staff responsible for operating analytical instruments. Our training courses are designed with competency-based materials, combining comprehensive theoretical lectures and practical sessions. This ensures that participants can independently and correctly perform chemical instrumentation analyses after completing the training.

With its comprehensive facilities, the Physical and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory supports student learning and facilitates high-standard research activities.
