Depok, Friday (5/7) The Department of Geography, FMIPA UI received a visit from 24 students and 2 accompanying lecturers from the Department of Geography and Regional Research, Faculty of Earth Science, Geography and Astronomy, University of Vienna, Austria.
Their arrival was warmly welcomed by Dr. Techn. Djoko Triyono as Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, accompanied by the Head of the Department of Geography, Dr. Supriatna, M.T., and Dr. Noverita Dian Takarina as Head of the Office of International Affairs.
Dr. Supriatna, M.T. explained that their current visit was in order to implement a field study program of the Department of Geography and Regional Research, Faculty of Earth Science, Geography and Astronomy, University of Vienna, entitled “Scientific excursion abroad: Urban and regional development at Java”.
The event included a public lecture titled “The Greater Jakarta: Problems and Solutions” delivered by Dr. Triarko Nurlambang, a lecturer in the Geography Department of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia. This was followed by a discussion on the development of Indonesia, particularly Jakarta, as the largest metropolis in Southeast Asia.
