Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI Announces 2020 MAPRES Winners

On Friday (April 3, 2020), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) UI announced the winners of the 2020 Main Outstanding Student (Mapres) and Mapres categories.

The announcement was made online by the FMIPA UI student affairs unit. Muhammad Attorik Falensky (Geography 2017) won first place, followed by Brenda Mutiara Samiadji (Mathematics 2017) as second place, and Alvin Subakti (Mathematics 2017) as third place.

In addition to announcing the Main Outstanding Student (Mapres Utama), the Assistant Manager of Student Affairs at FMIPA UI, Dr. Retno Lestari, also announced the Category Outstanding Student (Mapres Kategori). There are four categories in this most prestigious faculty-level competition.

Willy Candra Junior (Geography 2018) won in the Arts and Culture category. The Sports category was won by Jessye Maria-Deanne Awuy (Biology 2017). The Entrepreneurship category was won by Dip Rizki Saleh (Geography 2018), and the Social and Environmental category was won by Muhammad Khairul Rosyidy (Geography 2017).

The 2020 FMIPA UI Outstanding Student Selection (Mapres) series of activities began and was officially opened by Dr. Techn Djoko Triyono, Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, on Tuesday (March 17, 2020) at the FMIPA UI Multidisciplinary Research Laboratory Building, UI Depok Campus.

Carrying the themes of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Industrial Revolution 4.0, the 2020 FMIPA UI Outstanding Student Selection was attended by eight finalists for the Main Outstanding Student category and twenty-three finalists for the Outstanding Student category.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic overshadowed the 2020 FMIPA UI Outstanding Student Selection, the faculty continued to adhere to and implement the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Prevention Precautions Protocols in effect at the University of Indonesia, including physical distancing.

The 2020 FMIPA UI Outstanding Student Selection process consisted of presentations and discussions in English, a Scientific Paper (KTI) presentation for the Main Outstanding Student finalists, and an interview session for the Outstanding Student Category finalists.
