FMIPA UI Holds Inauguration of Pusgiwa Canteen and Prayer Room

Today, Monday (June 25th), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of the University of Indonesia (UI) held the inauguration of the new cafeteria, student activity center (Pusgiwa), and prayer room (Musholla), which was combined with a gathering of the FMIPA UI academic community. The inauguration was marked by the signing of a plaque by Dr. rer. nat. Abdul Haris, Dean of FMIPA UI.

The event, held in the new cafeteria, student activity center, and prayer room building, was witnessed by the leadership and academic community of FMIPA UI, as well as representatives from partners who supported the process and donated part of the construction costs.

In his remarks, Haris expressed his gratitude and pride for the completion of the two-story building, which took approximately nine months. He stated that the building was quite impressive. representative as adequate facilities for student organization activities, worship, and rest between busy lectures.

He also considered the inauguration of this building a demonstration of the strong collaboration between the partners, namely Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI), Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM), and PT. Sinarmas, with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia. He therefore expressed his gratitude to them for their excellent cooperation.

Haris explained that to the right of the canteen, the student center and the prayer room of FMIPA UI, the canteen still stands. emergency which was erected while construction was underway. Soon, after the tenants have moved into the new canteen, the makeshift canteen will become a garden.

He instructed the canteen management, namely the UI Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences facilities unit, and the vendors to maintain and preserve the cleanliness of the canteen area, cooking utensils, and eating utensils. He also added that the vendors must also sell nutritious food.

With the inauguration of this new facility, Haris hopes that the FMIPA UI academic community can improve their performance and enthusiasm for learning, as well as innovate and create better.
