The Selection Process for Dean Candidates for FMIPA UI for the 2021-2025 Period has entered a new phase. Five Prospective Dean Candidates who have passed the administrative verification stage on October 14, 2021, are now moving on to the next stage, namely the Presentation of Vision and Mission which will be held online on Tuesday (19/10/2021), and broadcast live on the FMIPA UI Official YouTube channel.

The presentation of this vision and mission invites the internal public, namely the academic community and residents of the University of Indonesia, as well as the external public, namely the wider community from various circles and backgrounds.
In addition to competing visions, missions, and work programs, the prospective Dean candidates were faced with various questions given by the public.
Dra. Ariadne Lakshmidevi Juwono M.Eng., Ph.D. as the deputy chair of the FMIPA UI Dean Candidate Selection Committee explained that this event is an opportunity for prospective candidates to socialize their ideas and work programs that will be implemented when they are elected.
“Public involvement from outside the University of Indonesia is also considered important in providing ideas and constructive criticism as a reflection of the public’s point of view objectively to prospective candidates. From the presentation of each prospective candidate, the public can also get an idea of the direction of FMIPA UI’s development in the future if the prospective candidate is elected,” said Ariadne.
Through the presentation of this vision and mission, it is hoped that it can produce credible and integrated leaders, so that they are able to bring FMIPA UI to achieve its vision and mission, namely to become a leading science faculty that is able to compete at the global level.
The prospective candidates were given 15 minutes each for presentation and Q&A. The public who attended were also quite enthusiastic in asking questions.
“The atmosphere of this event was quite good, the participants were also enthusiastic, and quite a lot of questions were given to the prospective Dean candidates, the work programs offered were also all good,” said Ariadne.
The committee also enforced rules for submitting questions to the public, including that questions may only be submitted through a direct chat column to the co-host, questions submitted may only be related to the vision & mission of the prospective Dean candidate, and questions may not involve SARA or bullying.
After the presentation of the Vision and Mission in front of the public, the prospective Dean candidates will face an interview stage which will be held behind closed doors on Monday, October 25, 2021.
