Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra Officially Appointed as Dean of FMIPA UI for the 2025–2029 Term

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI) has officially welcomed a new dean following the inauguration of Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, S.Si., M.Si., as Dean of FMIPA UI for the 2025–2029 term, succeeding the previous dean, Prof. Dede Djuhana, Ph.D. The Inauguration and Oath-Taking Ceremony for Deans and Vice Deans within Universitas Indonesia was led directly by the Rector of Universitas Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Heri Hermansyah, S.T., M.Eng., IPU, on Monday, 8 December 2025, at the Balai Sidang, Universitas Indonesia Campus, Depok. The ceremony formed part of a series of faculty leadership inaugurations at Universitas Indonesia and marked a new milestone in the academic journey and governance of FMIPA UI.

On the same occasion, two Vice Deans of FMIPA UI for the 2025–2029 term were also inaugurated: Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., as Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, S.Si., M.Si., as Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration.

The inauguration of faculty leaders across Universitas Indonesia formed part of the university’s strategic efforts to strengthen faculty governance. In his remarks, the Rector of Universitas Indonesia expressed his hope that the newly appointed leaders would be able to enhance academic quality, strengthen research, and expand cross-disciplinary collaboration.

“A dean must be able to foster a strong academic culture, and, as a CEO, know how to mobilize human resources and faculty members in accordance with their areas of expertise, as well as be capable of transforming dormant assets into productive ones. This is what we expect from a dean; ideally, they should possess the ability corporate culture and academic culture” Prof. Heri stated in his remarks.

He emphasized that the position is a mandate that must be upheld for the advancement of Universitas Indonesia and called on all deans and vice deans to orchestrate corporate culture and academic culture in harmony, so that each faculty can become excellent and impactful. Prof. Heri also expressed his appreciation to the previous leaders who had laid a strong foundation for the university’s sustainability.

“Positions are a mandate that come and go in turn; let us uphold this trust to advance Universitas Indonesia,” he said.

The inauguration marked the conclusion of the faculty leadership selection process, which had been ongoing since mid-2025. The process comprised several stages, beginning with administrative verification, followed by public aspiration screening, and substantive selection. In the final stage, the candidates were evaluated by a panel consisting of former rectors, members of the Board of Trustees (MWA), and community figures deemed to possess competence and integrity in the field of higher education.

In addition to the leadership of FMIPA UI, the Rector of Universitas Indonesia also inaugurated the deans and vice deans of seven other faculties: the Faculty of Medicine (FK), Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Faculty of Psychology (F.Psi), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Computer Science (Fasilkom), Faculty of Pharmacy (FF), and Faculty of Public Health (FKM). The inauguration ceremony concluded with the signing of the handover documents by the Deans of the 2021–2025 term to the Rector of Universitas Indonesia.
