Depok – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Indonesia (FMIPA UI), held an Academic System Introduction for new students of the Master’s and Doctoral Programs for the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The event took place on Friday (January 30, 2026), at the Prof. Dr. Ir. Soemantri Brodjonegoro Building Hall, FMIPA UI.
The event aimed to provide new students with an initial understanding of the academic system, academic ethics, as well as various facilities and support services available at FMIPA UI to support the learning process at the postgraduate level.

In his remarks, the Dean of FMIPA UI, Prof. Dr. Tito Latif Indra, M.Si., extended a warm welcome to all new postgraduate students. “It is a great honor for us to welcome you as part of the FMIPA UI academic community,” he said.
He conveyed that education at the master’s and doctoral levels requires students to demonstrate strong commitment, independence, and dedication in advancing science and technology. He also emphasized that FMIPA UI is committed to creating a supportive academic environment while encouraging students to be actively engaged in research and scientific publications.
“At the master’s and doctoral levels, students are expected to demonstrate strong commitment, independence, and dedication in advancing knowledge. We also strive to create a supportive academic environment while encouraging students to actively engage in research and scientific publications,” said Prof. Tito.
He expressed his hope that FMIPA UI postgraduate students would complete their studies successfully, become high-achieving graduates, and make meaningful contributions to the nation’s progress.

During the event, several speakers delivered presentations to the participants. Drs. Gatot Fatwanto Hertono, M.Sc., Ph.D. presented the supporting application systems for postgraduate studies at FMIPA UI. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Terry Mart, S.Si. explained academic ethics in research and scientific publications, including the importance of avoiding plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification. Another speaker, Dr. Dra. Denny Riama Silaban, M.Kom., also delivered a presentation on curriculum and academic matters to the students.
The event was attended by Adi Wibowo, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., Chair of the FMIPA UI Academic Senate; Prof. Anom Bowolaksono, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Education, Research, and Student Affairs; and Prof. Dr. Ivandini Tribidasari Anggraningrum, S.Si., M.Si., Vice Dean for Resources, Ventures, and General Administration. The event was also attended by managers, heads of departments, and heads of study programs within FMIPA UI.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session and discussion moderated by Sarini Abdullah, S.Si., M.Stats., Ph.D., which provided students with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the academic system and academic life at FMIPA UI.
